Haha, she's haunted by Heath and a drunk?!? Ok then.

*Although I am interested in reading the article to see what silly coincidences they came up with. These tabloid mags always make me laugh, I don't buy them, but I always flip through them and read the occasional article in the bookstore*

There was a big article about both the sisters in Life & Style last week, about how different they are now and how Ashley wants to distance herself from MK. I believe that...a little...

foxnews.com

Mary-Kate Olsen has been spending a lot of time with high-fashion model Jessica Stam, and apparently the Canadian-born blonde has been a positive influence on the once-troubled twin's road to a full recovery from years of weight and health woes.

Olsen spent the Fourth of July with Stam in the Hamptons and after happily chowing down at the model’s private barbecue, the BFFs headed over to another private grill-out at the Estate in Sag Harbor just before midnight.

Dressed in a long black sweater and high heels, we’re told a healthy and glowing Olsen was actually laughing (big surprise) and was a total social butterfly as she happily floated around with Stam and her girlfriends from NYU.

Interestingly, Olsen chose not to associate with the male party peeps.

“I’ve never seen her [Mary-Kate] in such good spirits, and she didn’t look anything like her old emaciated self,” an eyewitness told Pop Tarts, adding that the “Weeds” actress refused even a drop of alcohol. She reportedly stuck totally to Snapple antioxidant water, which is believed to be another positive influence that the health-conscious Stam has had on her famous friend.

But despite MK’s new perky persona, some things will never change — she refused to be photographed and wouldn’t even let a digital camera get near her.

how many times is life&style, ok!, etc. going to run that story? :hardhead:
they're sisters...i'm sure they get sick of each other every now and again...

in response to the fox news story, there's this from fashionologie.com...
just goes to show you, can't believe everything you read...

So . . . about that Fox News story that's circulating.

It purports that Jessica Stam is "inspiring Mary-Kate Olsen to ban booze and get healthy" and elaborates with a nice little anecdote about how the two pals spent the Fourth of July together at a "private grill-out at the Estate in Sag Harbor," where Mary-Kate drank no alcohol and "stuck totally to Snapple Antioxidant water, which is believed to be another positive influence that the health-conscious Stam has had on her famous friend."

Funny thing is, Fox News forgot to mention one little detail. That barbeque at the Estate in Sag Harbor? It was sponsored by Snapple Antioxidant. Maybe Stam is a healthy influence in her friends' lives, but I call PR plant on this story.

I really only believe it because People had run a similar story and they're pretty reliable. I agree, siblings aren't going to have everything perfect but they do seem to be very different now...

OMG! Huge LOL on Stam being a positive influence. These people need to have a chat with Knighley.

I thought Stam had cleaned up her act and even quit smoking...for a time anyway. LOL

This is just too funny, poor dear mainstream media  Booze, what are they talking about

Rumor: Ashley Olsen in Greece

In Touch Weekly is reporting that Ashley Olsen has been out of sight for the past few weeks because she and boyfriend Justin Bartha have been on a romantic Greek getaway.

The vacation was a spur-of-the-moment idea, their source claims. “It was a sudden plan to go to Mykonos and to explore Greece for a bit,” they said.

Their source also said that the relationship is going really well and that Ashley has been the happiest that she’s been in months with Justin.

“Ashley is so in love and really happy with Justin, even though it’s only been six months,” their source said. “She has been telling her family how much she loves this guy and how sweet he is.”

I’m glad Ashley is having fun and enjoying herself. She deserves it. However, MSNBC is reporting that pals are worried that Justin isn’t serious about Ashley, and is using her to rebound from his relationship with Lydia Hearst.

“He was (totally) crushed after Lydia Hearst broke up with him last summer,” MSNBC’s source says. “Let’s hope he’s over her and not just using Ashley to retrieve his mojo.”

Oh my spencer has told the press some nasty stuff! I never thought I would visit this thread but he is soooo immature i HAD to vent.

Just saw the wackness yesterday and MK was quite good in it! Her part was small but enjoyable nonetheless. Good film too.

Stam being health conscious? I think we can all imagine what her lungs look like. :innocent:

I saw it a couple days ago and I have to say MK's scenes were the most intriguing and comedic to me. The rest of the film was kind of dull and Josh Peck was below par for being the lead.

Mary-Kate Olsen Wants Immunity in Heath Ledger Case

Pint-size actress Mary-Kate Olsen has refused to be interviewed by federal investigators probing the accidental drug death of her close friend Heath Ledger unless she receives immunity from prosecution, The Post has learned.

The actress' lawyer has repeatedly rebuffed attempts by the feds to question Olsen, who was the first person called after her masseuse discovered Ledger's body in his SoHo apartment in January.
Frustrated federal officials could obtain a grand-jury subpoena to compel the funky "Full House" actress to tell them whatever she knows about the "Dark Knight" star's behavior, his possible drug use and the events of that fateful morning, according to sources.
Probers have interviewed everyone connected to Ledger and his death, including his doctors, the masseuse, bodyguards, housekeepers, business associates and even the mother of his 2-year-old daughter, Matilda, his "Brokeback Mountain" co-star Michelle Williams.
"Ms. Williams was extremely nice and cooperative," a source said.
Another added, "Everyone has been very eager to help, saying what a great guy Heath Ledger was, everyone except Mary-Kate, who has refused to speak."

That source explained that Olsen would be the final witness they need to conclude their investigation into where he got his drugs and medicines.
Ledger - whose performance as the Joker in "The Dark Knight" has ignited Oscar buzz - died of a potent cocktail of prescription drugs and OxyContin, the latter of which was likely obtained illegally.
His death was ruled an accidental drug overdose by the medical examiner.
And NYPD investigators closed their probe without interviewing Olsen because, they said, they got all the cooperation they needed from others. That decision, however, surprised some observers, considering Olsen's role as a potential witness.
Instead of calling emergency responders after getting the call from her masseuse, Olsen telephoned her bodyguards in the Big Apple, telling them to race to Ledger's Broome Street home, where they arrived just as paramedics got to the scene.
The US Drug Enforcement Administration, which opened an investigation to determine the sources of Ledger's drugs, was not as sanguine as the NYPD about talking to the 4-foot-11, 90-pound Olsen.
The feds contacted her lawyer, Michael Miller, several times recently seeking her cooperation, but Miller has told the feds Olsen won't be interviewed unless she gets immunity, exercising her constitutional rights.
According to sources, all of the drugs in Ledger's body and discovered nearby in prescription bottles were legally obtained from two physicians - with the exception of OxyContin, a powerful painkiller.
Investigators "are trying to ID the source of the OxyContin," a source said. "Did it come from a dealer, from a friend? If he had a bottle from a friend, was it taken by someone else before police responded? That is what is trying to be determined."
The DEA probers were also aggressive with the NYPD, the sources said, and were forced to threaten to obtain a grand-jury subpoena before getting the department's Ledger files.
An NYPD spokesman said the department never balked at handing over the files and did so after receiving a routine federal administrative subpoena.
Asked whether he asked for immunity for his client, Olsen's lawyer said, "We are not going to comment on whether there is a criminal investigation," and declined to speak further.
The sources said Ledger's employees reached out to Olsen because they panicked at finding his body and did not know what to do.
As for the bodyguards, they claimed they responded only to offer help.

there needs to be some chat on this seriously there does are we allowed to speak on it? I want to speak on it!

I think the fact that she wants immunity is shady. The real story is that some people think that in the 3 minute space between MK's bodyguards arriving followed by the po po and paramedics, her bodyguards may have snatched some incriminating evidence against MK.
