Matthew M. Williams - Designer

Julien Dossena and Gucci design director Davide Renne are also among possible candidates, WWD names, along with Jil Sander's Luke and Lucie Meier As Clare Waight Keller Departs Givenchy, Who Could Take Over?

With names like these they're going to get another CWK situation. Dossena is overhyped yet his menswear is not that great so it would be still struggling under his direction, taking the design director from Gucci sounds irrelevant in 2020 unless he could cut himself off that Michele's aesthetic completely and the Meiers should stay at Jil Sander because they finally found their feet there. I won't even comment on that guy from Alyx because that would be another Alexander Wang for Balenciaga kind of match.

The Alyx guy is a top contender but only for the menswear so we'd be only half-screwed...and yes he has shown nothing of substance, Wang at that moment had at least done some finely styled shows of editorial fodder.

Dossena? Seriously?:ninja: In 2020? I forgot he existed.

What a joke that would be. I'm quite sure he would struggle as much as Clare.

Everything sounds so absurd.

Dossena is not six letters...lol

He has an aesthetic and tbh, he has done something quite amazing. When was the last time Paco Rabanne was even a part of any fashion conversation?
He is talented. He can do great in menswear (like Nicolas) but Paco Rabanne menswear is not needed. It can be good for the stage but not for real life.

I love Julien’s work, although I’d prefer to see him stay at Paco Rabanne because I feel like his work there isn’t finished. But I can imagine his Givenchy being very sexy and weird, and I like that. Plus, I feel like his couture would be very exciting. So, who knows!

I’m actually hoping it’s Lindsay Lohan I really liked what she did at Emanuel Ungaro when she worked there.

LOL. Off-topic, but looking back at the collection, it wasn't really that bad, given the brand and the era? It sure had more personality than most of the streetwear fashion that has nothing to do with either streetwear or fashion many brands churn out today.

Am i the only one thinking of Richard Quinn? he's shown some very interesting collections lately, with real craftsmanship and a real celebrity/royal hype to back him up. I know i know, he might be a lil more McQueen than Givenchy, but lord knows Givenchy needs hype to get sales going.
