Matthieu Blazy - Designer, Creative Director of Chanel

These guys bore the hell out of me they're good designers very good talented great cutters but so boring bring back the divas with a bag of cocaine and glamour

This is why Hedi is perfect for Chanel, a self-disciplined workaholic diva. There's not much personal drama around him, only work-related ones because he is a control freak who loves and cares enough for his job! (Hedi isn't my favourite designer; in fact, he's not even in the top 10, but his track record and past collections speak for themselves.)

If you think Raf has ruined Prada, hell is coming to Chanel. I feel disgusted putting Blazy and Chanel in the same sentence

I’m sad that he left BV, mostly because I do not care for BV - it was quite a nice place to park him in the ecosystem.

What bothers me about the raf gang is that they don’t routinely consider the wearer…a lack of empathy if you will. They are hyper-fixated on their concepts - be it pretentious art or “craft”…and the end products do not necessarily serve the wearer.

I will never forget trying on his BV debut curved-back pea coat. It was so rigid and uncomfortable, I felt like ninja turtle wearing a shell. I’ve not cared for him since.

^ I tried that too, what a mess... I ended up only ever buying the intreciatto boots from that collection and nothing else after that  I've to thank my SA who discreetly advised against buying the leather denim telling me that if it rained on it or if any drop of liquid came in contact with the leather, i could bid farewell to them :ninjas:

^ good to see that I’m not the only one, lol. All those high maintenance leather shirts for summer, what a nightmare and completely out of touch. I feel bad for the victims who bought into that.

You think he will make jeans out of tweed? (“I can’t believe it’s tweed!?” I’m joking but imma bookmark this post just in case …)

Oh don't get me started... Everything he made there was just so out of touch... And those ugly bucket bags from his first show? Still traumatised by that double-bucket one the models were wearing on their shoulders with one bucket at the front and the other one at the back...

I was just discussing that potential leather tweed thing (we actually called it “I can’t believe it’s tweed!?” too  ) over the break... Watch it be in his first metiers d'art collection...

I'm crying 😭 It's comments like these that made me join this forum and read through threads routinely. Like you can't find this level of humor on Reddit lol

10000 % what i feel with Peters ALAIA it lacks what Azzedine had, the regard for the body and the woman wearing his clothes and their lives , even when he experimented and pushed technical know how forward.

and i agree all 3 of the raf gang suffer the same empty pseudo modern intellectual concept first tik resulting in actually (mostly ugly) clinical products.

Y'all here complaining about Matthieu's out of touch products when Chanel had been selling plexiglass gas cannisters and $100,000 shopping baskets during Karl's tenure.
Nah, we are complaining about out of touch design elements directly attributable to the designer, not out of touch lifestyle offerings in luxury houses in general.

But also, those baskets are witty and fun, lol

Also, if I may ( although I do understand this is collection merchandisers + corporate dept related ) but Blazy’s blatant disregard for customers who are above size 12/14 is beyond me. The pretentious “44/46» is basically a size zero. No disrespect to anyone who’s that size of course but if you’re above that you can’t wear Blazys BV
