Reality TV contestant sought in model death in CA

(AP) – 1 hour ago

BUENA PARK, Calif. — A former contestant on the reality TV show "Megan Wants a Millionaire" is being sought for questioning in the death of a woman whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase in an Orange County trash bin.

Buena Park police say they want to speak with 32-year-old Ryan Alexander Jenkins about the strangulation death of 28-year-old Jasmine Fiore. The nude body of the swimsuit model was found in a Buena Park trash bin Saturday morning.

Police say Jenkins — who may have been Fiore's boyfriend or husband — reported her missing Saturday night and then vanished.

Police say he may be heading back to his native Canada.

A spokesman for VH1 says Jenkins appeared on three episodes of "Megan Wants a Millionaire."

Reality show contestant sought in model's death

Buena Park police say Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a Canadian national, was last seen with the victim, Jasmine Fiore, a former swimsuit model. Her body was found in a trash bin, stuffed inside a suitcase.

A contestant on a reality TV show was named a "person of interest" by police Tuesday in the case of a 28-year-old swimsuit model whose dead body was discovered stuffed into a suitcase and dumped into a Buena Park trash bin over the weekend.

Buena Park police say they want to talk to a Canadian national who was last seen with Jasmine Fiore last week at her Fairfax district home on Edinburgh Avenue. The man, Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a 32-year-old real estate developer from Calgary, reported Fiore missing Saturday.

Jenkins had been dating Fiore at the time of her death, according to the dead woman's mother. Fiore's body was discovered Saturday in a suitcase by a man who was searching a metal trash bin for recyclables in the 7400 block of Franklin Street. Police said it appeared that Fiore had been strangled.

Fiore had recently moved to Los Angeles from Las Vegas. She had worked two years ago as a commercial and swimsuit model, but was recently involved in a career transition, said her mother, Lisa Lapore.

Fiore and Jenkins had left Los Angeles together Thursday and were bound for a poker tournament in San Diego, according to Lapore, who had been staying with her daughter. Fiore left with her suitcase "packed to the gills . . . probably the same one she was stuffed in," Lapore said.

On Tuesday, Buena Park police said they were still trying to determine the relationship between Jenkins and Fiore, and said there were suggestions that the pair were married in Las Vegas. Lapore said she did not believe that a legitimate marriage had occurred.

Jenkins is believed to be driving Fiore's 2007 white Mercedes CL S550 with black rims and tinted windows, police said. Buena Park police investigators said the paper license plate that read "Platinum Motors" was replaced with the license plate HLY275, believed to be from Jenkins' black BMW sport utility vehicle.

Jenkins was a contestant on the VH1 reality show "Megan Wants a Millionaire." On the show, a woman dates various men, hoping to land a wealthy bachelor. On the show, Jenkins was described as an "investment banker."

Fiore had recently gotten a real estate license, set up a personal training business with a friend and was pursuing interests that included competing in equestrian events, her mother said.

Lapore said Jenkins had been working on another reality show that was being shot at his home. She said she was unaware of any problems between Jenkins and her daughter.

"They had issues, but I didn't hear anything extreme," Lapore said. "I'm worried they had a major blowout. Jasmine is pretty feisty and doesn't back down easily."

Sounds weird. The mother is worried they had a blow up. I don't see how a mother whose daughter was just found dead in a trash can needs to be worried about anything like that.

Horrendous stuff

hmm, i'm surprised it's not the plumber that got in trouble.

VH1’s Official Statement On Megan Wants A Millionaire Ryan Jenkins was a contestant on Megan Wants A Millionaire, an outside production, produced and owned by 51 Minds, that is licensed to VH1. The show completed production at the end of March. Given the unfortunate circumstances, VH1 has postponed any future airings. This is a tragic situation and our thoughts go out to the victim’s family.

Supposedly this guy also won I Love Money 3, so who knows if they'll be airing that either.

ILM3 reportedly has been cancelled, sadly. It was going to have a lot of Daisy of Love contestants on it, including Fox. VH1 is doing the right thing though, in my opinion. VH1 has wiped any trace of MWAM off the website and off the air, and instead replaced it with filler (which I hope means Tool Academy 2 will move back to Sundays).

Wow, I just gained some respect for VH1. What a tragic situation. Their reality tv shows collected the trashiest of the trashiest and the lowest of the lows.

He's now been formally charged, but they think he may have made it to Canada. Details are out about disfigurment of the body to slow identification.

I was just reading about this... so sad and unnecessary...
Wishing her family the best in these rough times and I hope this douche is apprehended ASAP...

Makes me angry.

Abusive jerks like that should never pass a criminal background check.

Hopefully he gets a imprisoned with a very large, very lonely beast-of-a-man cellmate who doesn't take "No" for an answer.

Canadian authorities on Saturday intensified the manhunt for the millionaire reality TV star accused of murdering a former swimsuit model and stuffing her naked, mutilated body in a suitcase.

"We're leaving no stone unturned, but we have to play our cards close to our chest right now," said Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sgt. Duncan Pound.

The search for Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a 32-year-old real estate developer and investor from Calgary, is centered around Vancouver and British Columbia, said Peter Van Loan, Canada's public safety minister.

The Mounted Police are leading the manhunt for Jenkins, who is suspected of strangling Jasmine Fiore and then reporting her missing the evening of Aug. 15 before fleeing.

I just pray for peace for her family, because for them to not only lose their daughter, but in that way? It's absolutely sickening. I too hope that his cellmate is a big man who doesn't take no for an answer-he deserves the pain of that for what he is making the family go through.

I cry at the thought of her being identified by her implants...that's a sad way to go out.

Now TMZ is saying that his parents are wealthy and helping him evade the police...ugh...can't they see their son is a monster?! A person who rips someone's teeth out and cuts their fingers off is not someone who should be helped.

I agree, what a bizarre statement. Who thinks that someone being feisty and not backing down easily gets you killed? The same could be said of me & I am alive and kicking ... of course I also have a policy against dating losers from 'reality' shows :innocent:

This is all over the news here in Canada. I really hope they find him and bring him to justice. He's a monster :yuk:.

If the parents are truly helping, they should be arrested too. I hate it when the people who have the money use it to evade reality.
