another service for you to start:P you could make an empire of services

DH jeans
plain white undershirt ts, or grey
hightops but only the right ones
either a military kind of jacket, a plain one, or a really simple leather jacket, possibly vintage, but only if it's just the right one. Some guys can do jean jackets. But not many.

mostly plain stuff, with an emphasis on good jeans and decent trainers. that's just me, though. I like my men casual. Hoodies under jackets can be quite cute too.

For dressy stuff: one word: Pink's. No 3 button suits on anyone under 45.
Pinks shirts look good when worn ragged too.

AND NO DRESS SHOES WITH JEANS. EVER. And NO BALL CAPS. Unless you're Pharrell.

Pringles underwear. Oh yeah. No white socks.

For me, guys should all have each group of clothing either in black, or in the darkest shade possible.
Black, slim fitting t-shirt; black / Dark blue boot-cut jeans (sorry! I can't pull off Dior Homme jeans even if I wanted to); black belt & black slightly dressy shoes (no tassels!); black blazer; black underwear and a dark suit.

I am going to second the american apparel t suggestion. They are 15 blank (plus 7 dollars flat rate shipping at the site), but they fit very well and are supersoft. I am about to order a blue ringed white T from there tomorrow.

For t-shirts I stick with American Apparel. Their t-shirts are made from extremely soft cotton and are cut very slim, so they're very fitted. And the best part is they're sweatshop free.

I love, love, love this brand. It's the only kind of t-shirt I'll buy anymore. I've had one for over a yer and hte black is'nt even losing its color. Plus they pay their workers more htan the minimum wage. So it makes me feel good about buying it.

American Apparel not only has an amazing fit and great, basic clothing, but they have no extraneous branding and the perfect style details - their pocket polos and henleys are great. Plus their brand image (as well as sweatshop free positioning) is a plus. Add me to the list of their admirers.

I disagree with 2Xist as an underwear choice. I find that some styles get damaged very easily, as the cotton separates readily from the waistband with regular use. Former employees/partners in 2xist created CN2, which has a better quality cotton so far, but I've only had them a few months so time will tell if they're any better. But I spoke to one of the partners and he recognized some of the original problems they had in 2xist. Personallly, I recommend Puma underwear. Slightly pricier (2$ more for briefs than 2xist), but fabulous cotton and fit.

Let's just hope Brian doesn't see this. I'm expecting a comment from him anytime now.

Basics...like Raijin said, Helmut Lang. :flower:

B*llocks to Armani. I tried a few Armani black label suits on in Barcelona and they fitted me terribly. Every man should get down to M&S and buy a Timothy Everest suit far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. Timothy Everest is an excellent suit source.

Have you seen his stuff for M&S? I went off on one about it in Shopaholics I'm afraid...

I'd get it - at the price you quoted, it seems like a total bargain. On the subject of basics, one should always have a great blazer. My basic blazer this season is apparently a black, 2 button, notched lapel APC moleskin blazer (cut slightly slimmer this season, so I snapped it up full price in 5 minutes). Whenever I don't want to think about what to wear, I reach for it and I'm polished enough to go out no matter what rags I'm sporting! :P And it cost more than what you quoted for Everest! But I wouldn't have seen the latest Everest at M&S - I live in NYC and haven't been back to London in a year... although one of my closest friends has suits by him that introduced me to the brand, and I'm quite convinced of the quality and fit.

I wasnt sure where to ask this so many MJcouture, Etro or some other guys here can help out. My brother is getting married and he knows nothing about designer clothes. For bridesmaid's dresses we went to david's bridal because his fiance doesnt really know there are things better. I dont want him going to men's warehouse or Tuxedo junction so I wanted to suggest some designers to check out on his next trip to miami or LA (he doesnt like NY as much and we dont have much in Cleveland). Armani makes good suits right? Who else can I recommend? I know he wouldnt want to go to the trouble of made to measure of bespoke. He takes his best friend on most of his vacations who is going to make sure he gets a suit because my brother hates trying on clothes. He wants something basic and classic and doesnt like more high fashion things like Thom Browne skinny short pant or anything like that. Thanks for any suggestions!

Guessgirl Pal Zileri suits are very nice indeed. They are nicely cut and finished. You should try and see for stockiest. But as you said Armani suits i also find are very nice cuts and they fit me very well. Hope this helps a little

Like you suggested yourself Amani is a good choice singe they design suits with classic cuts, which is perfect for men who might not be into the whole shebang of skinny suits and such. They do also have a lot of experience with creating attire for weddings, formal events and other glitzy occasions. So go with Armani.
