Menswear Trends S/S 06

I'm kinda digging the whole safari thing...saw some interesting pieces at men.style.com, anywho I was just wondering what people thought of sandals like these:

I have a similar pair that I got in India last fall (They're by a company called Metro) but I only started wearing them when the weather got warmer this year...I think they look great with almost anything...straight jeans, khakis even shorts (i'm a college student :P ).

What do you guys think?

Also, I think flatfront shorts will be nice to wear around when it's really hot out...someone said something about short shorts...I like to wear shorts that stop just before the knee...anything below the knee and baggy is a lil too much (no pun intended  )

oh oops...I got the photo from men.style.com when looking around the safari feature they did

Please don't wear a black one-button suit in the daytime. It'll only make you look like fashion victim.

In all honesty, I think sandals just look horrible. Despite the current popularity with sandals, to me it just looks sloppy. In a way, I wish that Bella Figura was a tradition taken seriously everywhere in the world! haha

Ponchos, particularly those from Peru made of fine alpacan wool. Very light, warm, and comfortable, especially in cold damp climates.

Can any body recomend a good sandal for me to wear with out my feet looking like clown feet. I wear a size 12-13, it depends on the cut of the shoe. Thanks

rightguard,
you must pay attention to Burberry Prorsum 's sandals.

they looks gorgeous.

Agreed. I always feel like Jesus in sandals. However 'luxe' they are I still feel like a crusty old bible basher

I cant wait to buy a pair of nice flip flops for me this summer

I hate those kinds of sandals. They remind me of cheap leather goods from Detroit.

BTW, Who loves suspenders here?
not me. like leggings, they seemed really unique and interesting in photoshoots but when 'real' people started wearing them they turned incredibly tacky. definitely something people will look back on as a "what was i thinking?" moment.

^ You are so right, very few people can pull the off...

But I don't understand the intense dislike for sandals that a few people have expressed... I love 'em when it's hot; I lived in sandals during the summers in Milan and Munich. Now that I'm in Stockholm, it's pretty much never the right weather for them... I'm hoping for a hot summer...

I've seen suspenders/braces work well on tall, skinny guys. And the suspenders themselves need to be very skinny.

same here! i prefer flip-flops, but both are preferable to walking round wearing sweaty trainers in the summer :D

This is slightly off-topic, I was browsing men.style.com's S/S 06 designers (digging D&G!) and was just wondering what are the typical male model's clothing sizes and height/weight? Maybe one day it can be me haha!

Thanks
