Meryll Rogge - Designer, Creative Director of Marni

Im fine with it. I see a lot of Prada in her work and behind the styling, her work works…
She is good in menswear and womenswear + she has a sense of colors.
Hopefully, she will try to remember that Marni also has an heritage and an identity and won’t turn it into a design project.

I’m curious and kudos to her. A Belgian may save a house destroyed by an Italian…

You know me at this point…
Not expecting anything only hoping for the best.
I saw her work and she doesn’t seems opposed to feminity. Marni was sometimes « gauche » in a good way. Hopefully, she will see that.

And maybe Renzo Rosso could tell her that considering that Marni has a beauty license, not doing dreadful aesthetic (even if it’s with beautiful clothes) is not very inviting to develop beauty.

And now that I think about it, no wonder Balenciaga never released a fragrance during Demna’s tenure. How could beauty would have existed in his world!?

I think Dries started to sag when she was there but I don’t mind her independent brand for what it is.

Rosso is really not diversifying his portfolio at all though all his brand appointments are targeting the same exact Ssense shopper under 40.
Yes right? He has quite a homogenous group.
Even if the original aesthetic of those brands couldn’t be more different, nowadays, it almost feels like those brands are just speaking the same language with different accent.
Marni and Margiela could also be minimalist some seasons. Consuelo was sometimes minimalist and Margiela, if Glenn decides to explore his Hermes could also do minimalism…So therefore, they could compete against Jil Sander.

Tbh, him buying those brands always felt like a « social climber » move.
Even if it gave him access to a place in fashion he wouldn’t have access to, I’m curious to see if his next acquisition will be in the same vain.

Her picture here (with a statement necklace) is way more on brand
So why styled yourself like a fashion student who idolizes Phoebe and The Row in your official portrait?
