Michael Rider - Designer, Creative Director of Celine

not sure if there’s a dedicated Celine thread (the search function makes me feel tech illiterate)

but it’s kinda funny how many Celine emails I’ve been receiving lately, practically begging me to buy something lol
They are trying to sell all the Hedi stuff.
I wonder how much not having a runway show hurt the brand.
I don’t have the feeling that outside of Hedi fans, people are really that excited to get their hands on the latest pieces from Hedi.

There’s no real covetable pieces from his last collections despite the fact that they were good.

But I guess the Kendrick jeans are sold out.

That’s a good point - I hadn’t thought about it. Personally, I was interested in buying something since it could be his last collection (or at least for a while) but nothing really caught my eye.

I do think a big part is that Celine is actually doing email marketing now - a month after Hedi left (made a joke in here before about how with him gone they now have enough in the budget to do it lol)

I just had a look on the website to see if there's anything I'd like to buy from Hedi's last collection before it's over. There is nothing that has any creative input, just very pedestrian( albeit well-made) pieces with a vintage feel, and the same jacket and skirt again and again. It looks like the clothes have become an afterthought in order to sell the bags. They're not even bad, just nothing to get excited about.

You would likely not have a real representation of the offering on Hedi’s last show through the e-shop.
Unfortunately, you have to go to the boutique.
