Michael Rider - Designer, Creative Director of Celine

I see so many Celine ads walking by several bus shelters/stations here in Paris and get so many emails now. They have so many IG posts of their handbags or workout equipment. The marketing push is a bit excessive.
Their segmentation is really poor too. I always receive the same email twice, but an hour apart, lol.

I had to unsubscribe ! It was way too much.

Hedi used to post his IG photography every day. Now it's all product images of bags and now pilates gear
It really feels desperate and cheap.

Honestly walking the streets of Paris I see the most that women are wearing mostly Celine bags. It’s Celine or Chanel. I am 100% sure that the sale is going very good.
They do have a really massive inventory (so many lines in so many nice colors).
So even if they sell better than most, I m not 100% sure the net income is way above others.

Yeah they are really everywhere but tbh that’s what the average consumer expects and needs. Celine is now a “household” name for JAPs, rich Asians, and so many more groups than just art gallery heauxs like it used to be. It’s annoying but it works

They are showing between Men’s and Couture in July. So probably a co-ed Womenswear resort and Menswear SS2025 show or Prefall.
No indication on the season yet. Because they can show for the arrival of the FW collection in stores.
Jesus I am lost with all those Cruise, Prefall and Resort… why cannot houses just go back to normal Men and Women calendars? Whyyyyyyyy!!!

The normal calendar kind of make sense for the audience in a way but there’s a whole economy, the business of fashion behind it.

Collections are designed throughout the year and they have to be shown, so advertised in order to be sold.

Karl is responsible for this mess in a way because for a longtime, those in-between collections were generally a bridge from seasons to seasons in stores, for VIC.

The thing is that those collections are related to deliveries. Now they are advertising their « Summer » collections. From Chanel’s « Coco Beach » to Chloe « Summer ». It’s just a way to signal to the clientele that swimsuit will be available in stores, even though the official runway collection for the Spring Summer won’t be in stores any more lol.

And with retail changing, customers are always on alert.

I remember reading a "rumor" on a different forum that the collection would be a wild stylistic departure and similar to The Row, and although it's hard to judge from all 20 blurry pixels, I guess they were kinda right? Idk. Looks very... generic, but playful? I don't hate it, and I am curious to see more, yet I can't say it's something I'd be interested in pursuing a purchase from.

This sounds great on paper tbh.
yes when its done by Hedi hehe ....as he did at Celine already it was a French RL

But i just can't with another middle of the road clothes i see no ID can be GANT can be COACH can be Hilfiger even in 2025

But like i said he will do like he dresses sloppy layering and i got crucified lol for it almost... to not pre judge based on his style of dressing.

my SA can text me but i won't be passing by i told her already Hedi left i feel no point to get more stuff .

It’s okay I would wear it, some pieces could be nice but it might get lost in the menswear collections. Very middle of the road as some of you said. Hedi is a menswear authority so it would really be hard to follow through with anything.

But I’d rather this than Slimane-lite like what Anthony did for years at Saint Laurent.
