I'm sorry, but she's a freaking genius. Attention = bank. She won't have to dress like a fool for long, and she'll be set for life. Plus, it's got to be fun to put on a totally different look than what's considered 'normal' for you.
I agree. I think everyone is taking all this way to seriously. Yes, I'll admit, I don't think hanging out with all these weed-smoking rappers is that good for her. But the clothes.. c'mon, it's just clothes. She's just having fun! I guess after having to fit a certain image for all these years, it must be quite liberating to just do whatever you want and wear whatever you want. Yes, maybe it's a bit extreme, but so what? It must be kind of fun to think that you're just gonna give a huge f*ck about what people are gonna say about out.
And as rochasfille says, it has worked like a charm for her! She's never been bigger, so it's clearly working.
I'm not saying I'm a fan of her fashion choices, or her sticking her tongue out all the time. But really.. It's not that big of a deal. That doesn't mean she's gone completely crazy and is gonna loose it. (Maybe she will, but I don't think we know enough to predict that just by looking at her appearance.) I think it is a thought through image to get hype and sell more records.
Looking forward to seeing her documentary, "Miley: The movement". Saw the trailer the other day, and you see her planning her VMA performance. And she's telling Britney Spears that everyone takes it all too seriously, and the she just wants to go out there and do something crazy. I mean, I think that says a bit, that it is a conscious choice - she is refering to it as crazy as well. It's not that she has completely lost herself and sees this as completely normal. It was meant to make people react.
