Mineral Makeup

I just wanted to share that I received my Everyday minerals
samples yesterday.
I have to say i LOVE it!!
Most mineral make up looks so ashy on me but EM makes my
skin look so polished and it covers redness very well!
Highly recommend it :flower:

I recently started using it too and am completely and utterly obsessed! I think it makes me skin look so great. Glad someone else likes it as much as I do! :D

[FONT=&quot]I havent found the right application technique for me yet. Ive tried powder with a brush, wet [with both foundation brushes and flock sponges] and mixed with moisturiser. theres not much else I can do with it. might try another brand. I want to use Everyday Minerals but for some reason their site doesnt recognise my card or at least it wont process it. Has anyone else had the same problem especially people outside the US?[/FONT]

If I use fairly light for BE, what shade would I be in EM?

I still say I hate mineral makeup. The other day I noticed how bad my Grandma's makeup looked and guess what she was wearing? Go on, guess. BARE MINERALS! I HATE bare minerals. And most other mineral makeup, too. Give me liquid any day.

^Why so upset over what someone else is wearing?

I'm glad you like liquid, but don't have a hissy fit.

aperture i've been using lilylolo for a while now & i love it!
best thing is to order lots of samples & try them all out.
there will be a shade for you. they have a fab choice!
& make sure you order the translucent silk finishing powder

Could someone tell me what mineral make-up is? I am a little bit slow with these things, unfortunately.

Thanks to everyone on the thread I have just ordered my first free kit from EM. I'm so excited! :D

Let us know how you like it. The sample jars are sort of hard to use, so be careful with spillage. I am seriously addicted to EM and just can't use anything else anymore! Since using mineral makeup, the overall condition of my skin has improved so much. I love this stuff!

I have got my mother onto mineral makeup. She needs a proper brush though, so I have ordered her a kabuki with some more EM stuff that's on its way to me.

I also ordered some samples off the Pure Luxe site- Erase (like a primer), some of the highlighting powders, and a couple blushers. Their blushers look a bit more shimmery and less pigmented than EM's.

I keep meaning to get some more Meow Crystalline Cat Glow Powder- that stuff is really really good. I mean Meteorites good. IMO anyway.

Mineral make up is made up of crushed minerals so they dont contain all the chemicals and dyes traditional makeup uses. Mineral foundations usually come in powder form [although some companies do sell liquid foundations] which can be applied in a number of ways. I think a lot of people find it has healing properties and its great for sensitive skin. Ive been using it for a couple of months and my skin seems a lot clearer and healthier. Mineral makeup looks really natural on the skin, you can keep it light for a barely there but flawless look or keep building up layers for a more intense look. It really does give great coverage if applied correctly. I love the fact that you can mix colours together so you can get the exact match to your natural skin colour. Plus it never feels like you are hidding behind layers and layers of cakey makeup.

I have only had a few blemishes since using mineral makeup [no where near as many when I was using traditional makeup] but I use mineral coverup which works amazingly well.

Although I haven’t used them myself yet, you can mix a lot of the eye shadows with lip-glosses to use on your lips or clear nail varnish to paint your nails.

Ive finally found an application technique that works for me. I do the usual swirl/tap with the kabuki brush but then I spray the brush with a light mist of water and apply it. As I said before there are a couple of different ways to apply it though.

[FONT=&quot]I honestly cant think of a single bad word to say against mineral makeup! If you find a good company it doesn’t need to cost a fortune to use [and it lasts for ages!] but some companies are charging far too much [not mentioning any names.] I love lilylolo but a lot of people swear by everyday minerals. Does wetting the brush give you a dewy look? I always wonder if it will get cakey if I do that and am never brave enough to try it!

yes. meow cosmetics' crystalline primer powder is pretty good!
but i find it a bit "drying" on my skin.
i still prefer southern magnolia minerals' angel radiance; which sadly, was discontinued.

How are some of you ordering samples? I would like to try out different shades of BM & possibly Everyday Minerals as well.

wetting the brush . . (& it isn't much, a very light mist) just gives a more flawless, smooth, dewy finish
like the makeup dissolves into your skin?
it might differ with different brands but i use lilylolo too
don't be afraid! experiment!
