Mineral Makeup

How are some of you ordering samples? I would like to try out different shades of BM & possibly Everyday Minerals as well.

If you go onto the Everyday Minerals website, you can order an entire kit with two foundations, a blush, and a concealer (there might be something else added in there, but I cannot remember). All you have to do is pay for shipping! I think it is under the "Kits" tab. It is awesome and comes pretty quickly. The only downfall is that the sample packaging is difficult to use...and messy. :P

wetting the brush . . (& it isn't much, a very light mist) just gives a more flawless, smooth, dewy finish
like the makeup dissolves into your skin?
it might differ with different brands but i use lilylolo too
don't be afraid! experiment!
:flower:
Thanks! I am going to practice tonight!:bounce:

Oooh I've always been using BM's mineral foundation exclusively, and nope, no bad reactions whatsoever.

My choice of application is using a Kabuki brush and with a light dusting of powder, go through my whole face. Really natural. Just evened out my skintone. I tried it once with the Beauty Blender sponge and it was awful! (although the sponge's really wonderful for other kinds of foundations)

Now I am going to try it with a light mist of water. Thanks for the tip!

^ You're welcome, missbliss! I am pretty sure that shipping was $3.95, and don't worry about exact match when it comes to foundations. They tend to blend into the skin regardless if they are a shade or so off when in the pots. I recommend ordering one that is a little slightly lighter so you can blend them.

Well I had my free kit come in yesterday and I wore it for the evening, and I am amazed at how my face look. It was weightless and lasted all night and I felt flawless with so little! (I have very oily skin so instead of reapplying I've purchased rice paper for daytime use.)

Now I need to get my mother some, but I wonder if they will have issues with the same CC used?

^ I am SO happy that you liked it! I knew you would.

Regarding the credit card... they might notice, but there is a chance that it won't be an issue if the shipping address is different. I think it is a "one per household" type policy.

Not for me.

I'll stay true to my heavy duty coverage, gots too much to cover

I got my Pure Luxe samples yesterday (also got my EM kit too). The PL is really glittery IMO. I like the Nymph blush though. The rest I could live without. The EM foundations in Golden Medium and Sandy Medium (relatively new shades I believe) are a good match - I usually wear Medium Beige. The new shades are a little peachier.

I've also ordered some Alima samples... Must. Stop. Buying. Makeup.

Bump!
I started with Mineral Make up ca. 6 Months ago and by now i am a total convert. i'd never go back to liquid foundation, ever. my skin has never looked this immaculate (even if it is NOT), it''s simply amazing. I found my perfect shade at german site b-natural.de which is great for me because live in germany. Andrea of b-natural is very helpful with chosing colours and sharing tips. Also, you can order sample kits for very little money. So you can try them all.
As with Mineral Make up, I recommend you do a good research before buying anything. The mass market brands such as L'oreal just don't get their products right. MMU is all about purity of ingredients, many brands are all organic, but L'O put lots of sh*t into theirs, and, additionally, it doesn't cover properly at all.

the best site to learn all about mineral make up is the mineral makeup blog (http://www.themineralmakeup.com/). the girl is a true expert, and her reviews are great. she tried most of the brands available, and so it's easier to find the perfect shade. there is also a lot of information regarding the best ways to apply MMU. LOVE the blog and hope you will, too!

That link is great, thanks

I'm a bit on the fence about Alima foundation. The colours run a lot lighter IRL than on the screen. I ordered (neutral) N2, N3, (cool) C2 and C3- 2s were far too light, Cs were far too pink, so the only ok match was N3, and I think I may be N4 or at least halfway between N3 and N4. So apart from colour matching, I was iffy about the coverage as well. Sometimes it seemed really good and other times not so good. I'm not sure that I'd buy a full-sized jar.

Also found that the Everyday Minerals foundations were not as good a match as I thought. I just got Sunkissed Fair in the mail yesterday and that seems to be the best so far for my skin (NW25), it's coolish with a bit of peach in it, so not greyish like Med Beige Neutral but not yellow like Golden Medium.

Me too. I went through a stage where I tried all the mineral brands but ultimately returned to my full coverage colorstay and my loose powders. Minerals just don't cut it for me; I need full coverage that only liquid seem to give. Not to mention I just like liquids better:shock:

i tried meow cosmetics flawless feline for full coverage. it performed very well together with mineral concealer applied first. sometimes i struggle with psoriasis and need that extra coverage... maybe the flawless does it for you, too!

I'm not sure if its possible, but since I've changed to mineral makeup, my skin (without makeup) looks and feels fantastic! Its only been one week, but I haven't changed anything else in my regime, and my skin is so smooth and soft, poreless, and glowy! My skin tone is really even, too! Can mineral makeup cause things like this?

^ Lara L, many people, including me, have claimed to get the same benefits. Isn't it great?!

BE actually claims that it improves your skin over time too!

^ usually, there's a lot of parabenes, dimethicones and stuff in the average liquid foundation. even the top brands like MAC or chanel do have loads of chemicals in their product which definitely affects the skin and might clog the pores or irritate the skin.
since most MMUs consist of only 3 or 4 ingredients (and many are organic, too), there's only little chance of getting irritated. your skin doesn't have to cope with so many ingredients and so, it heals quickly and stays healthy and glowing.
as with any make up or beauty product: the purer, the better.
