if you get an ipod and you want to download music to put on ur ipod you can use i tunes right? i am kinda confused though, why would anyone buy a song off of itunes for .99 cents when you don't have to? so the question i am wondering about is: if you have an ipod and you want to download music onto it from itunes the thing you download, do you have to pay .99 cents? because i don't like taking my chances on like Kazza and limewire, they are illegal and they can give you viruses. someone please respond i am so lost with this stuff! thanks!

You dont have to buy songs from the iTunes store for your ipod. I just use all the songs I have from CDs and albums. It saves me money. :flower:

I'm glad I can be an example of 'what not to do' for some of you.

Kazaa is an option. It's 100% free. I use it, but you just have to choose the songs that are good quality.

Okay I'm not sure which I want a I-pod (white one) or a Sony network walkman you might have seen them advertised on tv.. The sony holds 13,000 songs 20GB harddrive. 30 hr battery. And it's on sale for $329.99! I'm lost....

Go for the IPod if you want is as a "fashion accessory". I actually think I could have bought any MP3 player, if I wasnt sucked into the hype around the Ipods.

Don't get the sony - it doesn't support .mp3 files directly...you have to convert all the songs or something...(which is really a hassle, since the reason why people get portable MP3 players anyway). I say spring for an iPod - even though it's really overhyped, it's really an outstanding product - I just got one a month ago (4th Gen, 40 GB - I was hoping for a 60, but they only brought that out with the iPod Photo and I was too eager to wait until I got the extra cash for a 60 GB iPod photo), and I've had no problems with it - music transfer is smooth, sound quality is great, and I've really taken up not so much space on the thing at all, even though I have over 1000 songs. (which is really more music than you think...)

Apple will always be the innovators, and the rest will always be the imitators. Nothing outthere holds a candle to an Ipod in terms of ease of usage and style.

i love my iPod.
i like it better than the new ones with the ugly grey wheel.
i've had it for a while now & i'd say definitely get the regular iPod.
i think the iPod minis are ugly :ninja:

Mine is a gold mini, and I've had it for some time now. It was a present, so I didn't get to decide whether I wanted the mini or the regulars. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with it, and I don't need more than a 1.000 songs available at a time.
Personally, I see a certain charm in cds and vinyl, so I haven't transferred my whole record collection on to computer either.

Like many others I received a Mini for Chrsitmas. She’s silver and so damn sexy!

i got the silver mini, i wanted to one with capacity for 10,000 songs but I guess I'll buy it myself later, I'm just happy at least now I get to survive through difficult times and places (taxis, hospitals, etc).

i just got the pink mini as a christmas present also! and it's personalized w/ a monogram (I'm southern we monogram everything :D) but question- do you get free songs when you buy them? I'm just going to put my favourite songs from cds on right now.

I don't get the point of a "mini". Why spend so much when it holds way less songs than the 20GB and is only $50 less. This certainly isn't meant to be rude I just don't really get it :flower: I'm confused about this ipod deal.. I'm looking to get one for college.

Does anyone know where to get a cute iPod protector/case? I need something to protect it while I workout....the only thing that keeps it from falling is my chest and my bra sandwiching it

I'm trying to get one from the freeipods website, still need a few more referrals...
Hopefully I will be the proud owner of an ipod soon

I received the 40GB Ipod for Christmas and I love it! I just want to buy a pink case for it now...Oh and I forgot to mention that my mum loves me so much that she got my name engraved on the back!:D

pinkcouture- the engraving rocks, no? I dunno- I think I would have liked the regular iPOD for the amount of songs, but I didn't buy it, so no complaining here!! I've discovered I like putting my fave songs from cds on there right now, but I'm going to move on to iTunes music store tomorrow... it's so much easier to just borrow friends cds for a day and import those songs!
