Miu Miu S/S 2007 : Lindsay Lohan by Mert & Marcus

Maybe Miuccia just want to do what is unexpected. And this choice is totally unexpected for Miu Miu followers. We're more used to a indie celebrity or a new 'it' Russian model.

Kim Basinger was also a weird choice, don't you think?

I find it strange that Miuccia would chose Lindsay to represent the brand for S/S 2007. Does she not realize that Lindsay's perception will be translated into the ads? For example, when an actress or celebrity is chosen for an ad campaign I immediately associate their public persona with the brand. Take Nicole Kidman for Chanel. When I think of Miu Miu I think of Zooey Deschanel not Lindsay Lohan. Albeit this rant does not mean I won't like the ads. I think Lindsay has a beautiful face and with the right lighting she may be able to pull it off. But as a consumer I don't want to see her as the face of Miu Miu.

We'll have to wait until the ads come out, maybe we'll be very suprised.. Lindsay can look very beautiful sometimes. But I do agree that the party girl image she has doesnt match Miu Miu.. oh well.. not our choice ;)

I'm not expecting much for this ad, but I don't know. Maybe something will happen and yeaa. My speculations are still pretty bad.

I believe that Mert and marcus will do their photoshop magic on Lindsay. She's quite beautiful and she can look pretty editorial when she wants to. However the latest stuff shot by Karl L. is horrible.

I have actually changed my mind on this one. Upon reading the Elle interview with her she's actually grown on me. She's a really feisty girl who comes across as actually being really aware of her strengths and weaknesses. And she's more talented than most of the young up-and-comings of hollywood. I think for Miu Miu the unexpectedness of having Lindsay Lohan would actually be an interesting move and for Lohan career-wise its a good move too.

Really? I thought the Elle interview made her sound more incoherent more than anything...

I wanted to jump out the window when I heard this. Lohan's not talented, she's not attractive, and her public image is sh*t. Yeah, that's exactly what I want representing my brand - an alcoholic with terrible work ethic.

The pictures might well be spectacular but all I can think is how IMPOSSIBLE that's going to be.

She's pretty, but just not as classy as I always thought Miu Miu is/was(?). She's a great actress, but she's throwing her life away (and her image) with her constant partying.

I honestly don't see how Lindsay Lohan can be the face of Miu Miu...
In my opinion, she fits more along the lines of Vesace.

Well, I just hope she doesn't get anymore campaigns... :(

No offense, but she does appear vulgar every now and then... especially her Halloween costumes.

Maybe its part of her 'I wanna change my image' thing she has going on recently.

I don't think Lindsay will ruin this or be nearly as terrible as people are expecting, but Zooey definitely is who I think of.
I really don't think anyone should worry, they're not letting her control the campaign, she's just the face. They are in control & what comes out is what they want and approve of. So if she has the overdone open mouth thing, well.. it's what they want.

this is crazy. atleast with lohan in the clothes woimen will be able to imgine themselves in it. i dare say shortskirts and tight shirts look better on her than Suvi---eeek! if she was tall and willowy there wouldn't be this problem huh? she is an actress i have complete faith she will be able to fit into the part of miu miu.

WHEN is exactly this campaign will show up? i can't wait!!!

i think prada's decision to use lilo is very effective. now we're even talking about the topic even we haven't seen the campaign yet...
very smart :p

No matter how anyone may slice this it, to me, is an incredibly stupid decision. The reason models are great are because we don't know anything about them, and we don't want to. They are supposed to be fashion muses and 'just a part of the art' representing the brand.

We know way too much about Lohan and she is overexposed, she has incessantly and undeservedly overflooded the media with her image.

Gross.

This awful news needs an thread of its own indeed, Miuccia has lost her mind.
I am totally agree with you, MiuMiu, LiLo? come on, what's wrong with their Marketing director??

^ maybe it was cheaper to hire Lindsay for the job instead of a model. I mean Lindsay always wanted to do a high profile campaign, maybe she does it for free
