Miu Miu S/S 2021 Paris

It is an effect of Katie Grand's influence. Grand and Anita Bitton love their nepotism girls. We saw it at Marc Jacobs (Kendall Jenner made her runway debut there and pretty much kickstarted the whole nepotism model train of the 2010s) and at LOVE Magazine. At Miu Miu, there's been Maya Hawke and Lourdes Leon in the campaigns. For the runways, there's been the Hadids, Kendall, Kaia, Iris Law, Sahteene Sednaoui, and now Lila. With Karl gone (another nepotism girl lover) and Marc Jacobs shows not being as relevant as they once were, it is safe to say Miu Miu has become the destination to showcase the nepotism girl(s) of the season.

For a while, Miu Miu used to be the best at finding and showcasing the coolest IT Girls/rising actresses though. Not sure what happened.

Thanks for explaining, that makes complete sense.

I think I stopped paying attention to Miu Miu when they cast nothing but Dutch newcomers season after season!

Appreciate you taking the time to respond, cheers.

I think my love for the brand itself often clouds my judgement when it comes to fully breaking down or taking a serious look at a MM collection. When I think of the brand, I think of that cool, quirky girl who challenges the status qou constantly and who will NEVER stop wearing colored tights (lol). Obviously, this was not a typical Miu Miu show. Personally, I saw lots of sportswear references, thinks 90s minimalism, that was competing with traditional Prada silhouettes. Frankly, it wasn’t pretty. I did however love the color palette. The vibrant colors used were fun and energetic. Again I am torn between appreciating the concepts but succumbing to the fact and reality that the Miu Miu we once knew no longer exists.

Best Miu Miu collection since 2016....A bit Pradaish & LVish but still nice & cohesive ....
