Miu Miu S/S 2026 Paris

rewatched just now. the music and set were genuinely great, honestly they made it very pleasant from a pure watching perspective.

a few nice looks, like the pink and green lace dresses, the floral blue too, even that apron suit(?) in #45.

besides those, a lot of looks didn’t need an apron imo and should’ve just been miu miu plainclothes or tossed. throwing them on everything just cheapened and drowned the voice of the looks where they actually belonged.

definitely didn’t feel intellectually riveted tho, doesn’t make me wanna go read that book. n yes that situation theyve got Emma in is ghastly

Miu Miu started losing the plot around the Fall 2024 collection. And I loved those early MM x LV collections (Spring 2022-Spring 2024), even if the merchandising/logomania started then, I do believe those collections had interesting propositions that impacted trends -- especially S/S 2024 with the polos). Since then, the casting and hair/mua of the models has only gotten worse, the "brand ambassadors" more confusing, the collections/looks more stuffy. Nonetheless, I'm sure the accessories and shoes will sell well (both the Miu Miu and the Steve Madden-duped versions).

It's weird because all of this will look better on Lotta once she starts wearing for her IG (part of her impact is she is an influencer); her personal style is usually not as piled on the collections she works on.

I did like the set, the sunglasses (which I'm sure were found in the Miu Miu archive), the jewelry, a few of the white mini dresses, and the black lace looks (that recalls Prada F/W 2008 as one person noted). The color palette was nice. Just wish it was it edited more and more chic...it had potential.

i think they became so fixed on the formula of overstiling mostly normal clothes that now they don't know what to do and resolve to pilling it all up to have an crazy show impact.

because part of the trick of selling is that these show items are basic classic clothes with a miu miu logo so for hardcore miu miu shoppers it's a runways piece but its a polo for every other person that dont see or follow the shows, as well with all the commercial drops they do blend well with the runway items on the shop floor.

lotta needs to be less overstyling and have less product on the runways and try to tell the story in a more light handed cool not try hard approach.

the elements can be all cool but its just frumpy try hard styling that makes it all old and tired just like the last fall show with the hats and last summer one with thrift shop belts on swimwear as tops this is the 3th show in a row with overt piling up styling that's not working
