Model skin & body care tips / products

This is a great thread.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed :flower::heart::kiss:

In this month's UK I-D magazine, Gemma Ward gives a 2 page interview, here's the quote on skincare:

"Psssssst! Want to get supermodel skin like Gemma? Read on:
I use Jurlique cleanser and moisturiser, or Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream. I have some tinted moisturiser from Paris with SPF that I use sometimes, too. I have a very simple regime when I'm not working"

I also found this article on diet-related skincare on www.secretsofmodels.com:

"Ever wondered how models and actresses get that perfect looking skin that is smooth and glows from within?
The secret lies within their diet. Now, you can too have that perfect smooth skin that makes all the girls and guys go envy about you.

Read, remember and practice this this....and you will soon be in the spotlight!! I can guarantee that.

Food to avoid
- White carbo food like white bread, pasta , potatoes, rice and etc as they increase or insuline
level, which trigger zits,
- Spices like chilli
- Alcohol
- Food containing MSG
- Red Meat
- Snacks
- Soft drinks
- Caffeine like Coffee / Tea
- Fried food or other junk food
- Dairy products like milk, butter, margarine, cheese, cream, eggs, chocolates
- Sweet sugary foods
- Salty foods
- Tabacco

Food to take
- Eat more fish (only steamed fish) as they contain omega 3, 6 and many fatty acids, nourishing for the skin and good for reducing acne and nourishing skin)
- Eat more almonds and walnuts as they are known to soften skin making it smooth and glowy and also promote skin firmness and replenish collagen
- Eat more dark colored vegetable s like brocoli, carrots (At least 3-4 types of vegetables daily)
- Drink 2-3 litres of water daily
- Eat more fruits that contain a lot vitamin C. Great sources of Vitamin C include grapefruit, oranges, tomatoes, kiwi and blueberries.
- Eat more nuts and seeds (they contain high level of Vitamin E which is one of the reason for dry skin)
- Soya bean and beancurd are known to be very good for the skin as it contains a variety of Vitamin B and protein which is known to be good for our skin.
- Yogurt. You must take this with other food as part of your diet"

I am trying the olive oil and sugar scrub in half an hour, I have already made it :)
So excited to try it, I've done it before but I did it all wrong...

^ So you should avoid dairy, but ingest Yogurt...huh?? lol

Well whole milk products have more fat than yogurt. Especially if it's low-fat yogurt, and we all know how most Models and actresses shun fat.

idk if anyone posted anything from the august vogue nippon or flair but ill scan some things in now and show you guys!

i think milk is good for the skin. Have u ever noticed.. ppl w/ naturally white fingernails??..its due to drinking a lot of milk. Milk does wonders for ur skin..even splashing it onto ur face will make ur skin more clear.

Whats the olive oil and sugar scrub regime kushie??

^ It's basically an exfoliating scrub, did not work so well because I tried it on my wet skin, so try it when skin is dry!

When I use the brown sugar and olive oil scrub I mix even amounts of oil to sugar so it's not swimming in oil...I get more exfoliating action that way even on wet skin, but for extra rough bits I recommend using it on dry skin.

Found this article in a UK Vogue supplement from a few months ago called "Beauty Stars - Vogue's insider guide to looking great" Scanned by me.

^ That was great! Thank you. :flower: I don't know what I would do without Visine. It is literally my new best friend. Some of those items don't seem to be available in the states though. :(

Bioderma and La Roche-Posay are available in the states, online, at leguidesante.com, beautyhabit.com and dermstore.com

Found this article too on www.sofeminine.co.uk, which features a few tips from top make-up artist Berangere Ducloux.

Our make-up expert Bérangère Ducloux has worked on the latest catwalk shows for Chanel, Hermès and Armani. Used to working quickly with skins which are often sensitive and tired after the stress of fashion week, she reveals her best tips for healthy skin and lets us in on a few secret wonder-products.

For a Glowing Complexion:
Massage your skin to prepare it for make-up.
Use a fluid moisturiser.
Massage the eye area to boost circulation and banish dark circles.
Apply foundation to areas which you want to highlight, you may not need it all over you face.

Bérangère's Favourite Products:

The Bioderma
Créaline range

PS: The Vogue Catwalk Kit article gave me an idea, what would your top 10 skin/hair care items if you had to compile a similar list? And why?

Thanks so much. if anyone has tried cetaphil, or St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub. Cam you let me know if it worked for you. And does anyone have any tips on good but not expensive exfoliating treatments.

I use St.Ives products alot. I have the Invigorating apricot scrub and its really good! Its made with Swiss glacial waters from the Swiss Alps, not too much fragrance or additives. Its quite natural and gentle on the skin and really gets rid of those dead skin cells and gives the skin a radiant glow ^_^

I also use the St.Ives swiss body cream and its like silk literally! If anyone wants to try St.Ives skin products, try the St.Ives gentle face wash if you have sensitive skin :flower:

I love this channel on YouTube for Ford Models; It has so many videos with great tips.
