Model skin & body care tips / products

Im woundering if anyone can help me????

In an article with a make-up artist he said he used a special brush which looks like a tiny peacock tail that's designed to paint mascara into the roots of the eyelashes.

I know its a long shot, but anyone got any ideas what this is and where I could find it? :flower:

perhaps its one of those fan brushes.. painters use it for their paintings..but i think make up artists also use it..i've seen it in sephora. I dont know what its for tho.

I see these at sephora and at fine arts stores all the time. I never knew what they were for as far as applying make up goes. If you buy one, you can get a good quality one at an art store for like half the price (maybe less if you were looking at REALLY expensive make up brushes, some are crazy!). THe only thing is the handles are longer on the painting one. They use good natural hairs though...

So it's for putting mascara on the roots of the lashes? Does it have any other purpose?

thanks for the help :flower: I think the make-up artist also used the brush to paint on the models eyebrows. I think i'll take the advice to go to an art shop, brands have now discovered they can charge ridiculous amounts of money for brushes

It's an abbrevation for monosodium glutamate, which is a flavour enhancer. It can apparently be found in a lot of snacks foods, fast food, frozen meals etc (I got that info from wikipedia, I'm not an expert). ;)

i didnt know tea was bad for u.. its herbal...leaves extract!! I'd stay away from coffee tho.

i think by tea they mean caffine in general. Not every tea is bad for you especially if you just use the leaves

I just found an article in a magazine about model beauty secrets
Christie Brinkley's favourite peeling is mix of olive oil and sugar. (I'm not sure if she meant for the body or the face though)
Rachel Hunter: She uses tooth paste for pimples. When she has it over night it dries out the pimple.
Sophie Dahl: Loves the night creme Guerlain Midnight secret. I read in another article that she also love Guerlain Divinora Lip Lift. And always uses it before application of lipstick.
I'm pretty sure she uses Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream too.

Kiehl's Creme de Corps is used often back stage.

Thanks

Don't do the toothpaste on pimple thing, it really messed up my skin.

Kushie: I'm glad you liked my tip! Earlier in this thread you wrote that you were going to post more articles soon. When do you think that would be?

Oh yes I remember, I did some of them but then someone else had posted the other ones.
I will look out in some magazines for more though :D

yeah i did the same thing with toothpaste once... it burnt my skin! I guess sensetive skin should really be carefull!!!

There's a small article with tips from models in this month's French Vogue. I'll scan it if you guys are interested.
