Yeah, I just saw the instagram pics with them backstage. Not sure if it's just me, but I don't think its fair that there are a lot of girls with GREAT, high fashion potential who are struggling to get into shows and then there's Kendall who gets to do shows because of her family's connections with certain designers and editors who schmooze designers.

The rise of the 1% model

We have seen several top high fashion models come out of rich celerity and high society families, some being embraced some not so much. Whats your take on this trend and who are some of your favourite 1% club members of the model fraternity?
* This thread doesnt include models whose last name the general public doesnt know like Stella Tenant or Jodie Kidd but more about those who came on the scene with their second names already known by the public.

I honestly don't have a problem with them as long as they are good models and have the look. Although Cara can be insufferable at times, she definitely knocks it out of the park in terms of print work. Gigi is growing on me, as is Hailey Baldwin.

I think Kendall needs more development. She looks good in commercial work but her HF work is very mediocre. She should have a career more aligned with clients like Victoria's Secret, Sports Illustrated, H&M than Chanel, Givenchy, etc.

Personally I have no problem with these girls. Cara stands out from the lot with her elfin looks and vibrant personality, I've always been a huge fan of Lydia, and I like what Kendall is doing work wise. I never thought Ivanka and Hailey to be successful models. And I've yet to see Kylie's work.

I don't think we should regard them any different because they're from famous parents. Most of them are actually good models, isn't that all that matters?

This is a very interesting topic, Urban Stylin! I agree with Benn98 in that at the end of the day, what matters is whether they are good models or not. However it seems a considerable number of people think that these girls have gotten an unfair advantage because of their surname, and have not had to struggle as much as other models for their success. While this may be true in some cases, I think that those girls that have atrocious modelling skills and do not improve, will eventually fade out. I quite like Kendall (although I think she has a long way to go), and I haven't seen any of Kylie's work, although I think they should stop trying to make her happen

I think Georgia May Jagger is also part of this trend since her last name is very well known though many people may not know about Lily D or Edie C's background.
