Galliano: He's still got the talent, I mean, he OWNED RTW FW 07. I think what makes him so powerful and influential are, one, he's a celebrity himself. They're aren't very many designers that are just as famous as their clothes. Secondly, he, in my opinion, single handedly made couture what it is today. Couture used to be just really well made clothes. Now it's become fashion as art in the extreme where the sky is the limit. Thirdly, he does a phenomenal job of balancing comerce and art...I mean, Dior is like one of the top five selling fashion houses, if not number 1, of today and has been for a long time now, but that doesn't stop him from producing such amazing, creative collection like he did for RW 07, especially for his own line.
Lagerfeld: He's made Chanel what it is today and that's all I need to say! What's so great about Lagerfeld and Galliano is that they've created this brand that is 100% relevant in high fashion and continually producing top collections and yet Dior and Chanel are still probably the most recognizable brands to the mainstream public. Famous and cherished within the fashion community and outside of it!
Ghesquiere: Because everything he does, starting with probably FW 05 and SS 06, and ESPECIALLY FW 06, and ever since then, becomes "it" fashion. In almost EVERY fashion editorial of every magazine has Balenciaga pieces, I mean, the FW 06 hats and shoes, the SS 07 robot leggings, the FW 07 scarves and blazers, they're everywhere!
