Most Overpriced Designer?

I refuse to believe the jewelry and watches business divisions from Dolce are profitable with these prices. It's giving Philipp Plein alleged money laundering.
400k for a red gold and rose tourmalines necklace...bare in mind the tourmaline is a low level precious stone, especially compared to emeralds, tanzanites and diamonds.

Browsing Cartier website, the most expensive necklace is a 280k Panthere necklace featuring onyx, 4 emeralds and 1478 diamonds (>10 carats)

Those pink tourmalines cost 20€ each maximum (facetted and polished), that 400,000 necklace has a grand total of 1,500 € of stones if we are extremely generous.
Same for Cartier, diamonds, especially the pavé quality, have lost 50% of their value the last 2 years.
It's for suckers.

LOL new SS26 collection drop on the YSL website and the prices are obnoxious as always
30k for 100% nylon gown that looks like an opera costume
Good luck trying to recover from -20% sales in the past 3 years.

I have asked my store manager, and yes it is 100% nylon, supposedly developped exclusively for YSL, but really it's a 10€/meter fabric.

When I think that the draped dresses from the Vuitton show are 15K, those nylon things are really a scam.

The YSL collection is really expensive from the shoes to the jewelry to the nylon stuff.
The shirts are fine though.
At YSL, only the leather mens and womens jackets are worth it. In menswear they do still have the best shirts by far, on par with Hedi's Celine ones, and over Charvet and all the rest. Far more precise (and enjoyable) detailing.
Tailored blazers also worth it.

I’m very tempted by YSL’s current offerings, where should I start? Leather ✅ Shirts ✅ are the pants well tailored?

Also.. is it worth paying full price or should I wait til it hits the outlets 👀

Their leather and tailored blazers/jackets are good, agree about mens shirts qualitative.
I love the cut and dedication in LV Women's Tailoring (disregarding your personal taste, there is a constant dedication to pattern making and form from Ghesquiere even on the Icons line) as well as YSL being more 'classic'. I find The Row to be quite disappointing other than appearing impeccable on a hangar (their fabrics are sometimes rubbing very fragile after minimal wear) with very generic blocks I'd rather just buy the original 80s Armani one for 200 euros..

The Bottega "recycled fiberglass" fringed skirts are priced 18k
Why does it say 100% polyester in the item description though?

Is it overpriced though?
I think some people needs to get over the fabrics thing. There are high quality synthetics and cheap quality synthetics. The same way that there are high quality natural fibers and cheap quality natural fibers…..

And when it comes to synthetics, buying that Bottega Veneta skirt (not the easiest to wear) is worth it. More than buying a 30K nylon YSL dress.

I don’t find the skirt, given the craftmanship, overpriced.
