Natalie Portman: engaged & had a baby boy!

I am not even convinced anymore Natalie will get it... even though she truly deserves it (not because I am a fan of hers) but her performance is the kind of stuff that are oscar worthy...in a movie that is borderline good and with less establish actors. I can honestly see the academy awarding Annette Benning mainly because of her age and her contribution to the film industry...
I hadn't thought of that, but I think you might indeed be right.

aww indeed :P

he looks like a mix of jackson rathbone and chris kattan. :D
usually i find him really hot, but he looked really creepy last night.

It's annoying to read some comments!!

Maybe this woman is so happy about her pregnancy and engagement that she wants the whole world to know it?

Where is the problem? And if its helps her to get the oscar than life couldn't be better for her!

^ Sure. But then why does she state that she never talks about her private life or complain about people not respecting her privacy when she shoves it so awkwardly into our faces?

I think that now that she's found her husband and she's secure in her relationship she doesn't mind sharing her joy.The fact that it was so ''awkward'' has to do with the fact that she didn't prepare a speech and went slightly off track in her excitement..is that so bad really? Too much slamming for a pregnant lady :D
And in her interviews she's complaining about the paparazzi invading her privacy, not the general public's natural curiosity :flower:

I actually find the acc. speech cute. Like melfreya said, the whole thing seemed to be quite spontaneous, but that makes it even more sweeter. You can feel sth. like honesty in that what she says.
well, I may be a little biased, because I love Natalie and I'm just happy that things are going so well for her.

I didn't think it was awkward, I thought it was honest. She seems more candid to me than she ever really has before, but that's just me, I guess.

Ouch. That was weird. I think she got away from herself just a tad. :innocent:

Pregnant woman, my ****! She got nervous and started to ramble, but definitely composed herself after that "laugh."

Her speech was so awkward. lol.
And the look she gave her fiance when she won...
But who can blame her, she announced she was pregnant, got engaged, and is winning a million awards all in the same month.
She's overjoyed and deservedly so. :D

"he's the guy that when they ask, 'do you want to sleep with that girl?' he says no, he's the best actor, it's not true! he totally wants to sleep with me! heheeheheheehe" lol

that was a little embarrassing but kind of cute too. hopefully she will be a bit more prepared at SAG and the Oscars. I remember Kate Winslet wasn't too eloquent either the year she win two Golden Globes. It happens.

Maybe she changed her opinion, now? Where's the problem guys! B)

the part about her boyfriend really was awkward, but the rest of the speech was beautiful especially when she thanked her parents and grandma and that darren guy in the end ^_^:D i'm happy for her that she's won!

although she is usually private, she seems so excited about her pregnancy that she can't stop gushing. to me it's kind of endearing.

Are you guys seriously kidding me? Her speech is fine even the bit about about her partner.I understand the hate she gets though because she is perceived as a 'goody two shoe' person so no one can insult her by demeaning traits so they insist on calling her stuck up etc...

She's getting awards, in a fine film, has a job she's passionate about, is in a relationship which could lead to a happy marriage, having a child and has supporting friends and family. Why wouldn't she gush about her life at this time!?

P.s I'm obviously biased

The part about Benjamin was embarrassing. And the laugh after it was even worse thing :-/ like a stupid joke in cheap comedy

Guys, here she's getting married!!!

^ *crickets* *crickets*

I really don't see what's so embarrassing and awkward about her speech. If the audience hadn't laughed, I could see what you guys were talking about, but the whole room seemed to be in stitches. She just seems genuinely happy and excited to me.

The part about her boyfriend was a tad awkward but not that much once you understand it's a sort of private joke referring to the film. Nevermind, I've found her really cute, the laugh, the dress, her little face, and I'm not even a fan of hers.
