-> Children’s reproductions of the fall 99/2000 collection made by Yamamoto for a german magazine...This set-up opened the show (following rolls of fabric) and was facing a video of the 99/2000 menswear collection shown by authentic gypsies with a backdrop of photographs of tzigane musicians…

thanks nr9dream...

wish i was there...

Wow, I love those pictures you have posted. I always look for a little kid quality in clothes... and now pictures of Yohji's collection designed for kids, cute.

thanks for the beautiful images, nr9dream!
wish i was there, too^_^
i remember i have that vogue issue somewhere, it was gorgeous!

thanks so much for those pics! sigh, yohji children's clothing! :woot: :woot:

nr9dream - oh my goodness! your daughter is gorgeous. Well funnily enough I was at this exhibition too on the w/e before you... I was really taken with the chilrens picture you took too. I loved this actual clothes on the dummies just in front of the photo.

The exhibition was excellent. The first floor was dedicated to some of yohji's inspirations such as lots of peasants clothes & workwear from the past and there were vieos of all his collections since 1984 (i think). Its not until you actually see the shows again taht you realise just how influential yojhi has been. Some of the collections were just fantastic. Personally I prefer the more 'poetic' collections of the latter years where he seems to have found a fluidness that he didn't have (or seek) when he was younger (and arguably more radical). The second floor was a showcase of he 'pieces' and they were mixed up with 'pieces' from which he drew inspiration - such a s a good few Vionnet dresses (in particular one in blak from 1918 which looks not a day behind 'the times' today).

The exhibition was excellent - well presented, interesting & inspiring. Unfortuately there was no literature to go with the exhibition - sorry Kit!!!! I wish you could have seen it with me!

Thanks for the kind thought , helena , I'll certainly make it to the Fondation Pierre Berge Yves Saint Laurent , one day .

SO glad you had a nice time . :flower:

kit, do you read french - there is an article/interview about ysl/berge in L'Officiel this month.

helena, finally you are back :flower:
glad you made it to Yohji's show

yes lena - it feels like i have been away for a month! There have been numerous adventures and just as many mishaps (including a rather unfortunate incident of leaving a full colette bag on the metro). My husband was not happy as it was his bag. ooops! I was not in his good books.

this exhibition was very good - I sat on the floor gazing at the videos for ages! yohji really does do some amazing shows. oh yes...the film by wim wenders was featured too.
