some schedule shifts, from fwd...

The fashion industry is revisiting the snafu that found Calvin Klein squaring off against James Coviello back in February 2004. Because of a delay in delivery from Italy—caused by raging storms—Calvin Klein was forced to move his show from Tuesday evening, to Thursday at 4pm. A slew of designers were affected, most prominently James Coviello. He originally had the spot of Thursday at 4pm, but then had to move. This season, Proenza Schouler—who has confirmed their 9am billing—seems to be mirroring the same fracas.

Originally scheduled for February 6, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez last week moved their show to the early morning of February 9. The issue at hand? That’s the time slot Willow—designed by Australian-based Kit Willow—had already been allocated for their runway show. Proenza Schouler blamed it on difficulties experienced with fabric deliveries, but because of the sudden shift, Willow had to reschedule airline flights, hotel accommodations, and completely reprint all their show invitations. They are now scheduled to show on Sunday at 9pm. What’s more, Proenza Schouler’s 9am slot has sent the J. Mendel team into a bit of a panic. The two high-profile design houses have in the past used several of the same high-profile models, but with J. Mendel showing at 10am—just one hour after Proenza Schouler—they are being forced to recast a portion of their show.

Does anyone know if style channel is doing coverage? I went on their website and couldn't find anything. Otherwise, where is the best place to go on tv/internet to see the shows??

NYMetro has done a lot in past years but is very hard to get if you're not located in NYC; their web site should have something (check New York Magazine for details) as well as Elle.com, according to their ads.

Style Network has only done a wrap up special the last year or so, usually the weekend after the last week. Otherwise, ET and Extra for daily reports, also Getty and Yahoo for the latest pics... Not big time coverage.. :(

last year NYMetro went off the air (at least time warner cable stopped carrying it) but FULL FRONTAL FASHION moved over to channel 25 which is a weird NYC cable channel. they showed virtually all the S/S 06 shows so i am hoping they'll do the same for F/W 06.

NY Magazine's site should have the details soon.

shows happening on thursday:

10AM, 11AM: Ports 1961, 601 W. 26th st, suite 875
10AM: Perry Ellis Mens, 1111 6th avenue, 36th floor
11AM: Reyes, national arts club, 15 gramercy park south
2PM: Ashleigh Verrier, TBA
3PM: Andrew Buckler, TBA
7PM: Miss Sixty, Capitale, 130 Bowery

fashionweekdaily has a list of the shows (although not up to date with the recent movements) and parties:

Ok, will Gwen and J.lo swtich off every season? Sweetface has F/W and Gwen has S/S?

are their design team not talented enough to do every season?

FYI from WWD:
Bryant Park Goes Live on Web
By Marc Karimzadeh

NEW YORK — The action at Bryant Park will only be a mouse click away starting with the Kenneth Cole show on Friday to kick off Olympus Fashion Week.

The runway shows will be streamed live on the Internet so that browsers worldwide will be able to get a virtual front-row seat to the Bryant Park brouhaha.

Fern Mallis, executive director of 7th on Sixth and vice president of IMG, said Ted Forstmann, IMG's chairman and chief executive officer, identified new media as a key growth opportunity for the global sports, entertainment and media company. For the first time, IMG Fashion is collaborating with IMG Media, and the divisions are creating live Web casts of the shows in the tents at IMGfashionworld.com. Hours after a show takes place, it will be available through MSNvideo.com. B Productions will be responsible for the taping of the runway shows.

MSN Video will have features such as profiles of designers, backstage interviews, and front-row action hosted by Kelly Bensimon, editor in chief of Elle Accessories. MSN Video will also have a video feature on the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

IMG is also teaming up with Sprint Wireless, and will bring small designer features, runway snippets and other highlights on demand to those fashion fans with multimedia Sprint cell phones.

These features will be offered free of charge. The new distribution systems are in addition to other television coverage, such as cable's "Full Frontal Fashion."

Wha!? Sweetface is showing again?

:meow: All the furry animals better run and hide.. especially since its F/W

.. I'm really looking forward to see what Lagerfeld brings to NY!
