From what we have seen so far they aren't making replica's of her outfits just items that fit that period of time. Personally I think they should have even though the above dress is gorgeous.

Even though she doesn't look very much like Princess Grace, she does look drop dead gorgeous and extremely elegant in those shots.

Someone on tumblr pointed out that if she had been styled like she was The Others, she would look like Princess Grace, and I agree. I don't like how they are styling her for the film (though it is nowhere as bad! as the styling to make her look like Virginia Woolf)
