Cate Blanchett or Nicole kidman?

well its an extremely tough call, for sure, and being Australian i feel a lot of pride and admiration for them both but as others here have said Cate has that certain undefinable something extra, that to me makes her simply luminous

she doesn't always make immediately obvious choices for success (i think) but somehow she almost always pulls it off with so much style and grace. (i can't this moment think of a real bomb that she has had, fashion wise. not to say there hasnt been any of course, but none come to mind right now)

so Cate for me

Nicole Kidman most definetly! She is beautiful and talented and always looks so feminine and sweet!Something about Cate makes me think she'd be slightly full of herself yet Nicole has never given me that impression.

Nicole Kidman is a bit more modern and has a bit more of an edge, while Cate Blanchett is a bit more classic, timeless and romantic.

I don't think they can really be compared since they've all got different interesting style. But seriously, I'd say both.

in terms of acting, I must say that Cate is a far more superior actress, her ability to change completely into a character (Elizabeth, Oscar & Lucinda, The Gift and so forth) based solely on her talents without the aid of extreme makeup (Nicole in The Hours) in my opinion makes her one of the greatest actresses of our time
in terms of fashion, Nicole to me has made more mistakes (I esp. hated the gold Galliano at one of the Oscars and the flapper YSL at a Golden Globes) than Cate on the red carpet, also her candid/off red carpet sense of style is something else (not in a good way). Cate on the other hand is far more timeless with her own individual flair.
Overall, this was a long winded post that Cate is far better in both fields!

Good point. I really liked those two dresses because they were interesting and different. Lately, she's just been a snooze.

I love Cate Blanchett's style. I like the designers she chooses and how she puts herself together. I wish Cate was strawberry blonde.

Nicole Kidman has good taste too, but there is something a bit barbie doll about her. I don't know how to describe it. I wish Nicole wear a redhead.
