Numéro 95 August 2008 : Heidi Mount by Greg Kadel

the styling is bland and has been done before .the theme would suggest something alot stronger

i don't dislike it, it's very 60s-70s. nice makeup. and i don't think she looks bad, but definitely very airbrushed, as usual, and i totally agree with who said that as a cover shot it should be stronger. when i read it was heidi i expected much more. there's something about the styling... i like the hat and the earrings, but i don't know... i think it would look a bit better like this:

You're right, it does make it slightly more compelling. But as it is the original is plain BO-ring.

Look, I adore Heidi. Her nonchalance is intoxicating, but there is something about this cover that just feels off. I understand the styling, the whole Woodstock feeling to it, but the execution is just lacking. Too much airbrushing really, and I would have loved to have seen this in color.

Anyhow, I'm hoping this this issue will contain enough good material to make up for what Kadel has done to Heidi. :p

I like Heidi, I'm glad she got a cover, but I am not feeling this cover.

Looking forward to the ed though

Yes, this is disappointing. I don't see how anyone can make the decision to take Heidi's wondrous noddy eyes and put this kind of freaky make-up on them. She should have the kind of make-up that Angelica Houston used to have when she modeled in the early 70s, or some moderate 60s make-up - not this heavy.

Sadly, I think this would have worked so beautifully with 60s make-up, in color, with a pastel outfit. I like the pose, though her nose looks a bit odd - again, weird, because it's so cute it's hard to understand how it could be messed up.

It's as bad a styling decision as when they decided to put Georgina S on there, styled as if she was Paulina Porizkowa. Anyway, I don't think this is Heidi's fault by any means, there's been a lot of bad Numero covers lately.

Hm, I'm surprised to see Heidi. She's apparantly a late bloomer ..

What never ceases to surprise me is how a magazine like Numéro, with such fantastic and interesting editorials, almost always uses the worlds second most boring photographer (Greg Kadel) for the covers and always with the studio face shots .. Enough! :(

Give someone else a chance, for God's sake! Looking at the other contributors to Numéro, the covers seem to have enormous potensial!

whatevs. i like it. so nice to see that after a few seasons, you can finally hit your stride and blow up... she deserves it.

if they wanted this late 60s vibe they should have done something more like this...

i love this picture. it's much more interesting than the numéro shot of course. hopefully the content will be good...

hmm not feeling the cover, and all the airbrushing is so unnecessary, heidi is gorgeous enough to pull off a beauty shot like that without all this tweaking of her features, hmph. oh well. i can't wait to see the eds, though!

Personally I feel there's something off about those dark backdrop covers by Kadel every time. They're just cold. I really do like the late 60s look they picked and I think Heidi pulls it off, but - and that's of course just the shallow impression I get - it doesn't seem to me like the team put in enough effort to turn it into something unforgettable. How beautiful would this have looked with a lot of backlight wiping out the edges? Anything with natural lighting! It would've made more sense to me than putting a beautiful blonde model in a dark cold studio. Cheer up, it's summer!

Admittedly I am craving an Akrans cover now.. she does them so well imo. She's one of those photographers who always ventures outside of the safe and secure studio.. I like that. ^_^

I wish it was a front on shot, because I just adore Heidi's large sleepy eyes.
Instead I'm just drawn to the odd shape of her nose and the over airbrushing.

But Numero's content never fails to dissapoint ^_^

want to see more, just like black and white shoot!

Beyoncé again???!!!!!:doh::sick: I remember she was in last august's issue... what is she doing there again!
Numéro has some serious problems with music: Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Kylie Minogue... what happened to the interesting musicians? :ermm: And they even call the issue "musique", what an irony.
Even I like that black and white and cold covers, this one's bad. The styling is terrible and the pose is not much better. It lacks personality.
