Haha, god, you know what. I complained about the 'mainstream stars' on the cover before, but I f'ing love Nicole Richie for reasons unknown to me. I do wish it was going to keep heading in that White Stripesy direction, but at least the cover looks good. But this, not so much:

As nerdy as this sounds I am in love with the fonts on this cover. Really nice mix of that magic marker look and the clear bolder fonts for smaller text. It almost looks like someone's high school notebook with all that marker and highlighter effect done in blue and neon yellow.

I like Nicole for reasons I can't quite place either. There is something about her. She seems amusing for lack of a better term. Besides I've all but lowered my Nylon expectations. I don't expect indie artists / actors or models anymore. They've gone completely mainstream. This time next month the cover star could be Julia Roberts.

I'm not surprised? Nylon isn't the "hip, edgy, underground" mag it so desperately wants to be. They know that this will sell to the mainstream.
