I love them, and own a fair few (mostly thrifted and vintage). I find them rather practical for night out actually, I just stick 'em up the crook of my arm,

I would love to have one, but I'm afraid that I'll get tired of carrying it around...

^ I agree. They look so lovely but my arms would hurt after a while. Maybe the flatter ones would be more practical.

Okay. I'm not a lady. I'm aware of that. I can see the functionality of a larger clutch. Thing is, I always thought a clutch handbag was just enough to carry essential items and stuff in. Stuff like makeup, lipstick, and that sort of thing. I don't really understand larger-sized clutch bags. I always thought clutches were more for just carrying some basic stuff as opposed to carrying a lot of other things at one time. Don't you usually need a purse or tote for carrying more things at once rather than these oversized clutches? I'm not knocking the designs and styles of these oversized clutches (there are some lovely bags in this thread), just more in confusion asking, "why larger clutches? Why not a purse or tote?" Just confusion for me. Don't hate it, just confused about larger clutches; especially if you don't carry a lot of stuff to warrant having a larger bag to begin with. Those who don't carry too much stuff at once (or usually don't need to carry too much stuff at once) usually get small purses or regular clutches. I don't really see having oversized clutches as opposed to a decent-sized purse. Or let me explain my point in a different way with an analogy- why would you want a compact disk carrying case that can hold up to 80 compact discs in their jewel cases when you only have about five CD jewel cases with five of your favorite CDs you take with you on the go? It's overkill and unnecessary for an oversized clutch in my view. I just don't get it.

dude. this is FASHION! why carry a pretty purse at all when you can chuck everything in a plastic bag and be done with it? because it's damn fabulous that's why:heart:

I just bought an oversize clutch at H&M for around 15 euros.. not as big as some have posted here (which is the size that I'm really on the lookout for)
I'll post pictures soon.. =)

theyre so great

Over-sized clutches are probably my favorite accessory of the moment. working in the city, they allow me to have the space to fit everything I need to bring into work, and then when I meet up with my girls afterward my clutch looks chic and funky. SO versatile!

Before oversized clutches became popular and easier to buy, I rarely used clutches at all because they are just not big enough to put essentials in! So not practical (unless you're like the Queen, who doesn't need to carry anything with her). I'm so happy about this oversized clutch trend! I can now put my wallet (not just some notes and cards), keys, basic make-up, cell phone, or even a min hairbrush in it, and feel very satisfied. I'd much prefer the kind of oversized clutch that is easy to hold or has some handle/strap so that carrying it for a long time wouldn't be a problem. Also safer this way. I wouldn't like to literally grab it by hand (like some of the photos here) with nothing to hold on to. Just doesn't feel extremely safe, like someone already pointed it out previously.
