Annoying "novelty" T-shirts/annoying Phrases

About ten years ago, there were a lot of love-themed shirts. About starting five years ago, a lot more of hate-themed shirts. Now... I really think getting the hateful T-shirts has gone down. Not as many people sporting T-shirts like "Only thing worse than being alone is being with you." I have no mean message shirts at all. I'm too nice to sport something mean.

Indeed you are John! My wife is Italian and her dad put her in Catholic girls bording scheel from 13- 22 and would only let her go out on afternoon dates even at 22 while in college during breaks. I bought her one that reads, "No one can resist a Catholic girl!"

You know, I'm starting to like you on tFS, Aradia-Renee... Well, some message shirts are fine. Stuff like "Everyone loves a ________ girl." or something like that. It's the more offensive and sarcastic stuff that get under my skin. Yeah, we don't know some people who wear these, but if you're just going on a person's shirt to describe how they feel about other people, it's tough to really accept such people on things. That's why I frown upon these shirts so much.

Sometimes even, this goes into other accessories. Like I remember a friend of mine had a handbag with a dialogue that goes like this:

"Hey, nice bag!"
"Get your own, b****!"

Most notorious among the younger set are those It's Happy Bunny things. Cute cartoon bunny... mean messages. Just nothing cute about it. What's so "cute" about hating on somebody with fashion? Just don't get it. Glad this is a dying trend. Hopefully, anyways.

HA HA John! THANKS! I always thought you were cool. I read this forum a couple of years before I got to join it.

We are both from Tejas!!! Although I must confess I am a Yankee from Amorillo...

You have me now double checking my posts for typos.

Renee is my real name. My wife said, "You remind me of my mom". So I had it legally changed from Robert.

I misread the thread. I missed the "annoying" part... Yea I do not like the mean ones. Once I saw a girl out with her boyfriend. They looked under 20. She had a t-shirt that read "YOU can't afford me!"

I thought it was really funny since the poor guy was driving a more than several year old Honda Civic.

I saw another one I thought was horrible. It read, "B****! Where is my blunt". ( A type of cigar).

She only wears them to live-band bars. I also bought her one with "Cowgirls do it better" or some such. It is so funny because she is so straight and she always gets hit on by a lesbian.

Some of these were funny. I loved the "Friendly Beaver Trailer Park". It is so Jerry Springerish.

I thought it was cool when Giles Deacon wore a t-shirt saying "uhu Gareth Pugh" at the end of his show then Gareth Pugh wore "Get Your Freak On Giles Deacon" but I thought it was lame when they started selling the t-shirts to the public . .
Trying to encourage fashion victims?

^ I like the sayings as long as people dont wear them I think they are cleaver in editorials and whatever but they are not good in real life. 'treat me mean alexander mcqueen' made me laugh.

DO ME DAILY CHRISTOPHER BAILEY

I'm wearing a shirt right now that says "You can't have manslaughter without laughter!" I don't care if it's cheesy... I like it!! ^_^

I bought one of the "Three Wolf Moon" shirts from Amazon, but haven't decided how to abuse it yet.

I generally don't wear logo and screen tees. This trend kinda died down a bit. I don't see random and pointless phrase tees as much as I use to.

speaking as someone who has a house of holland tee...i like them..but i work at urban outfitters so you can imagine how i hate those damn graphic tees we sell.

^Oh man, Urban had some really annoying slogans back when everyone first started obsessing over those House of Holland tees. I'm glad it's mostly over now.

haha, those are the best. I'd love to see what you come up with

I got an XL so I have material to cut away to put it on a model. Too much to do lately though, no time for arts and crafts.

I got a great one at Top Man over in Soho a few weeks ago. It's a little stick figure guy riding a brontosaurus and he's yelling "To the disco!" in a word bubble like he's The Lone Ranger or something. I guess that's not the same vomitorium fare as "JUICY" written across one's rear end or "B-I-T-C-H" on a t-shirt with sparkles.

Have you seen http://www.tshirthell.com/ ? Hilarious.

today i read on one t shirt something like black, black is the color of elegance and blahblah... i mean...it was for ******* or just cause we live in spain you print that in Spanish and people would laugh out loud.

i also dislike the im a queen , im cool, im this, im that, im what ... if they would say im your mother! or im your father! well they would be laughable...

I saw a guy wearing a t-shirt that said "This Is What Cool Looks Like" across the chest.

I resisted the urge to tell him that "Deluded" was misspelled on his shirt.
