but say, something like " Vote Kerry", "don't feed the models"-I like !

or "Don't Vote Kerry"..... :innocent:
agreed [/b][/quote]
also agreed!

I have mixed feelings about 'funny phrases' or 'ironic' tees. I must say I own a lot (I mean A LOT) of them.

Sometimes you really like a Tshirt, you find it funny or clever or whatever then you see it on the wrong person and it's totally :yuk:
I think it's a matter of combination. Your Tshirt has to match your personality.

yeh agree ... but i'm looking for a Strokes tee shirt... (band t'shirts totally different)

Concert/band tees are a different story altogether; I have about fifteen or so Dir en grey shirts alone, so my position should be clear :P . As long as you've heard and really like more than one song by the band, then wear your Iron Maiden's with pride and a mullet. :flower:

PS- This is a great thread. Welcome to TFS. :flower:
Yup...I got a friend who got a glassjaw shirt to impress a guy...then she came to me to "educate" her on their music....f*ckin posers.  ...

But if ya do actually know the music then rock the tee. :mohawk:

I agree with every single post on this thread, particularly with those who mentioned the 'boys are stupid...' shirts. I found those to be very immature and offensive. I would like to add one more type of shirt-the 'Jesus is my homeboy' tees that seem to be everywhere. :yuk:

My 3 year old wears a care bear tee similar to the one posted here

Of course without the wording....

aww...But seriously I use to live in Hawaii and have alot of friends from there...Well here in florida they use alot of hawaii surf shop tees and that agrivates my buddies so much! Their always bitching saying that THEY DONT EVEN KNOW HAWAII!!

not only that but some of the made up businesses have a sexual saying added on at the bottom of the business like the business is using some fake catchphrase. like, "the bigger the better!" or "for the best nuts in town" or like "wash and lube" and then theyd have things like "Jimmy's long pole flag store" I think you get the point >__<

I don't like those overly used and pointless phrases...like "51% angel 49% devil" "take a picture it'll last longer", "you looked better from a distance" "your boyfriends only with you cuz he hasnt met me.....yet" and all those tees with babygirl, hottie, baby, angel, devil, bling bling, and all those mrs. pitt, kutcher, timberlake etc.

One tee that pissed me off is I saw this gal with a tee that had a line and under it read "you have to be this tall to ride this ride". Now that was a hillarious private joke between me, Josh(tfs sn Tempest) and our friend Justin. One day Justin was bored and printed it on a shirt....and guess what? The girl lives close by me...hmmm copycat who printed her own also?!

I've seen some kool tees lately though....like Ale's giraffe shirt that says "deep throat" on it  :flower:

Deep throat... lol, that's cool.

I love T-Shirts with phrases and such, well not all of them. I guess it suit me more since I'm in high school and thats more appropiate than say a Dolce and Gabanna suit, but the suit would work better for someone who is a C.E.O. to an important buisness. I have a vintage Motley Crue tee I got from my dad, and I bought a Grababooty and Pinch shirt (as a joke almost since I HATE Abercromie) and recently a Friendy Beaver Trailer Park tee which I though was hilarious but look really vintage so I love it

I like the Vintage Disney ones, or Disney tees in general.

I hate novelty t-shirts with stupid stuff on them, they are so tacky ack  .

I like band t-shirts though, but imo you should only really wear them if your actually into the band because its just so fake and dumb otherwise.

ugh the other day i saw a girl wearing a shirt that said, "you might think you're strange, but i'm much much stranger"

i just dont understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think you'd have to be strange to wear a t-shirt with something like that on.

I make tees with illustrations on them.

I think people enjoy wearing tees with funny slogans or bits of nostalgia on em, because it makes them feel good. It makes them laugh. It makes strangers on the street smile. Sometimes it even gets them a date. Plus nostalgia can be a nifty security blanket to carry round softening the exhaust-fumed blow of today's ubercool "reality".

Ewww, those tees with annoying phrases are not only annoying, but most of them look cheap... And you'd think they're ugly and who on earth would wear them, but they're all the rage......

I saw an 8 yrs old kid in the subway yesterday and she had bootylicious written on the back of her shorts..... Ewwwwww, I would never on earth let my kids wear that. It's disgusting AND degrading.

I am very sick of seeing people wear them... I always see yuppie teenagers in thrift stores scouring the children's clothing racks for used and vintage novelty tees. the one upside is that it diverts them from looking at anything else in the shop, hence leaving me to discover all the beautiful vintage clothes that they're not bothered to look for. :ninja:

what really irks me are the ones that say things like "you can't afford me" or "boy scouting", etc - anything that seems like a sad attempt to assert "hey look at me I'm single, I'm available!!! I'm desperate!"
