Pale / Fair Skin - What are your fave products?

I had a little time to kill at the mall the other night (escaping traffic ), & so wandered into Sephora to talk about a replacement for my Prescriptives Custom Blend. The SA steered me to Makeup Forever, and said that they are always the best color match, even for dark skin--and that it's kind of amazing considering they don't have that many colors. Indeed she was able to match me quite well in two of their foundations. So I'm excited to have found a replacement so easily ... Also got a sample of Shiseido sunblock--really great texture, 60 SPF.

I will check out that makeup forever. I am so sad to no longer have that custom blend. I got a MAC foundation to replace it but it has some kind of shimmery undertone and it's not a perfect match to my tone, so it's better for evening and not day-to-day.

Also thanks for the blush recommends. When I got home after my long flight I discovered an old Chanel blush I had liked, had broken up (but was still usable) however my mother took it upon herself to throw it away so....I'm in the market.

which self tan products do you use?

i have pale skin, but for summer i want to have a little tan... does anyone of you use Clinique 'Face Tinted Lotion' or 'Body Tinted Lotion Light-Medium'?

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer and Josie Maran lipstick in Devious/Courageous is all I need. I'm very pale with an abundance of freckles in the summer (and ghostly pale, freckle-less skin the rest of the year). These products just make me glow. Perfect for a fresh-faced look.

what about Elizabeth Arden Mineral Tinted Moisturiser? the lightest shade is "fair". has someone tried it?

No no no, you must embrace the white

Well, that's what I do ... isn't Clarins supposed to be really good? All the magazines have reviews this time of year ...

PS I still have some Custom Blend, and was absolutely dreading the search ... and I agree, MAC foundation is awful. The other bad thing about it is, you buy multiple products in the same color code & they don't match each other, never mind you.

I am awfully white (maybe more than a vampire) - could you just suggest any product I can use that could look well? (in the face, I mean).

Those looking for tinted moisturiser - I think Stila Tinted Moisturiser in Bare is absolutely amazing

Also those looking for foundation - have you considered Givenchy? They do wonderful pale shades for us fair skinned ladies. I use the Photo Perfexion Foundation in Perfect Ivory and love it.

unfortunately:( we don't have stila products here. but I'm looking for a good tinted moisturizer. maybe someone could recommend one from other brands. except laura mercier, benefit and other "unknown" brands.

if you don't have a lot to cover I would suggest the Daywear Plus tinted moisturizer by Estee Lauder, it comes clear in the tube but changes color when you apply it in your face and adapts to your natural shade so you don't have to worry about matching. It gives you more of a healthy glow and it doesn't cover like a foundation would. If you want a tinted moisturizer that covers like a foundation you have to only go with Laura Mercier. I've tried numerous brands, famous and more "unknown" and it's the only one that can easily replace a thicker foundation. Stila tinted moisturiser is way too sheer to cover my acne skin, much more sheer than the Estee Lauder I mentioned above. But Stila and Laura Mercier are hardly unknown brands, today at least, and in the end you can always try ebay :flower: That's what I do, like, all the time!

Dora your best friend is blusher, and maybe a bronzer like Guerlain's Blonde 01, which is just so subtle, great bronzer to bring life to the face.

givenchy i love their formulations, but yes alas, i found photo perfexion in perfect ivory went sort of orang-ish on my skin ... so sad, because i wanted it so much lol. If the girls at the counter are good at their job they'll allow you to take away some sort of small sample of the tester foundation in your colour to try it see how it wears etc, if you don't ask you don't get lol.

I bought the sheer cover tinted moisturiser in Fair today. I havent tried it on it daylight yet but so far it looks promising. A bit scary looking in the tube but it blends in really well.

I really like these blushers from Benefit. They are quite delicate colours that add just the right amount of warmth to fair skin.

Georgia (left)

Dandelion (right)

And this bronzer from Pixi

Ive been using this alot recently

Doubles up as a lip and cheek stain. Lovely sheer colour which gives you a really healthy glow.

Mineralize skin finish in soft & gentle by Mac may be a good option too

I love Georgia and Dandelion from Benefit!:crush: they're the best peach and rose shade of blush for fair skin!

That orange thing happens to me too ... perhaps you have pink rather than yellow undertones as I do? It's so important to match the undertone. Some makeup counters in their vast ignorance :innocent: will sell a pink person a yellow foundation to 'counteract' the pink, even if the pink person specifically asks them not to. Your natural undertone does not need to be counteracted

I currently use MAC select moisture cover in NW 15. (Foundation in NC15.) I'm not too happy with it because it seems to give me a reverse-raccoon eye effect. (I now have white circles under my eyes.) I've tried touche éclat, Clinique, Benefit, and Lorac concealers but they are either too light or too peachy for me. Does anyone know of any good concealers for under eye circles? I think I need something a bit heavier, but am not sure what/where to look...

maybe its the foundation that is the problem (as in it being too dark)?

Bobbi Brown's eye brightener always gets a number of positive mentions here.
Personally I love Laura Mercier Secret Undercover Pot.

Estee Lauder double wear stay in place concealer is also supposed to be good. I havent tried it myself but Ive seen it on others and I was pretty impressed.

Mignonette, maybe you should try Bobbi Brown's creamy concealer.
this is the shade I have, porcelain, I think it's the lightest one
