Paris Hilton has landed herself the cover of the new People, an unlikely choice.
Very interesting!
The heiress did a photo shoot for the mag on Tuesday, just hours after her release from the Lynwood correctional facility.
Here is an excerpt form her interview!
On her medical condition:
“The doctors were observing me while I was there. They explained to Sheriff [Lee] Baca that they thought I was having severe anxiety, panic attacks, claustrophobia.”
On people who doubt that she will change after her jail experience:
“They’re wrong and they don’t know me. I’m a good person. I’m a compassionate person. I have a big heart. I’m sincere, and they’ll see.”
On getting out:
“Just being able to hug my mom felt so great, and I really needed it ’cause I haven’t had a hug in a long time.”

She was jailed for violation of probation after having been stopped more than once for driving on a suspended license due to a DUI. The DUI and the suspended license were only part of it. The probation violation is what got her.

No. She was on put probation after having been caught driving on a suspended license. Then she was caught again, hence the probation violation charge which is a much more serious offense.

So,

Caught DUI, License Suspended.

Caught DWLS (Driving While License Suspended), put on probation.

Caught DWLS again (2nd offense), charged with violating probation.

Late for court (made Judge mad)

Sentenced to 45 days for violating probation. Not sure if she was charged with the second DWLS or not.

Off topic, but I have a very blonde co-worker who was pulled over for speeding a few weeks ago and was arrested and thrown in jail for driving with a suspended license. The police officer told her that he normally would not have been so harsh but with all the Paris Hilton craziness, he felt that he had to take her into custody. Her parents bailed her out, but she has a court hearing soon I think.

Laws vary by state. In some places DWLS is automatic jail time, no exceptions, no excuses.

That's true...she was all demure and then she said she was studying Kabbalah. Now she is all about helping incarcerated women, her Catholic routes and The Secret...

We'll see...she can't go out to a club for at least a year if she wants people to buy this. I mean even US Weekly won't touch her anymore...deeming her irrelevant...that can't be good for her business...especially since she is a tabloid star. She'll also be eclipsed by Nicole Richie soon with the whole baby thing...

her acting agents dropped her...but that's not surprising.

She did hire some new power publicist though...well her parents did for her...apparently they pay for all her reps...
