US Harper's Bazaar October 2011 : Lady Gaga by Inez & Vinoodh

Truly beautiful subscriber's cover. Thank you for scanning, charlieandmarie. I'd love to see Julia Saner and also Lindsey Wixon, although I'm not a big fan of the latter, I think her work with Terry Richardson may be good.

the cover is quite beautiful. I do not understand why US magazine put pop stars on magazines. they are overated

I always like Terry's work for US Bazaar, because it proves he can produce fashion imagery that stays within the limits of decency. I might even go as far as saying he's one of the best things about the magazine at the moment, but that might not be the biggest compliment for the publication or the photographer.

You always have a perfect way of putting into words exactly what I'd like to say. Couldn't agree with you more.

I must say I was expecting more from Julia Saner's editorial. The styling is good but I don't like the photography. I quite like Lindsey Wixon's editorial. She looks very playful but this issue is totally underwhelming editorial wise. Thank you for all your scans, charlieandmarie.

You're welcome! Sorry for the poor quality. I will agree that the issue is definitely lacking in the editorial department, but Lindsey's is my favorite so far. In fact, it might have made me a fan of her. I'm surprised I like it so much considering it was photographed by Terry, but I really do love the concept.

We usually get a model for the subscriber's cover. I'm disappointed. Why not Lindsey by Terry for the cover!!

So I'm super tardy to the party on this one... but wasn't she just on the cover? I love Gaga just as much as the next fruit fly, but this is ridiculous.

So I recently subscribed to HB and this was the first issue they sent me. I subscribed to it having never read an issue---based on it's legacy (Diana Vreeland and Liz Tilberis being former editors).

I really love the pop culture aspect of it, the mixture of the old with the new. But I can't say I cared for the editorials. The only one that clicked with me was Karl's. The rest seemed bland. I subscribe to Vogue as well, and while I don't love every editorial, I usually click with the majority of them. So I was surprised it was content rather than fashion that I found as a draw for this first issue (with Vogue it is both content and editorials).

I like enough about it to keep subscribing but I hope that the editorials will shine more in future issues.

I am looking for the Tomas Maier article inside this issue...Anyone has it?
