Paris shopping

has anyone every stayed here it seems like a nice alternative to hotels for a week.

as an aside...is it close to Dries Van Noten by any chance?

^
never stayed there. When I'm in Paris i stay at....oh my, it changed it's name but it used to be called the Axial Beaubourg and I loved it because it was small, right by some amazing small local eateries, and also right in le marais and it was chic and well priced

I'm going during winter break and about how much money should I take? I'm probably will be shopping a lot so I just wanted to know how much will be kind of an average of spending

Does April 77 has an own store in Paris? I'm going to paris soon and I really want some pieces from the April 77 collection. If so, which stores stock April 77 and how much does a pair of jeans costs?

And when do the sales start in Paris? I'll stay there in the days between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

I don't think April 77 has their own boutique but you should check Noir Kennedy in the 4er. Ignore the dead rats hanging from the ceiling

are you kidding??? is there REAL dead rats???
i hate rats. :(:cry::cry::cry:

No they are fake, or else it would stink! Noir Kennedy is a nice store and I love the area (Le Marais), its true Colette is a major disappointment...

Which stores can I find at the area Le Marais? And what's the price range at Noir Kennedy? Where's the American Apparel store?

Noir Kennedy isnt expenisve, hmm depends what you buy but half of its vintage so its pretty cheap, I saw April 77s for 50 euros there on sale the other day.... you can find Maje, Sandro and other French brands, its has heaps of shops but you really have to walk around to explore the area...

The American Apparel store is Rue du Temple or something like that, you can find the address on the website...

The AA store is rue Vieille du Temple don't remember the number (120?) but it's almost opposite the APC store in the Haut Marais.

I was strolling down that very street just yesterday and from what I remember, you'll find on this street alone apart from AA and APC:

Sandro, Zadig & Voltaire, Madame à Paris, Yukiko (lovely vintage stuff), Vanessa Bruno, Manoush, Jamin Puech, Erotokritos, Olga (multi brand stuff), Ch.Ind, No Collection, Abou d'abi bazar (multi brands stores), Fragonard and that's just the fashion part, you also have design and arts galleries plus cafés.

Streets nearby like rue de Charlot, Saintonge, Bernard and de Poitou also have lovely boutiques like Shine, AB 33, Estelle Yomeda, Moon Young Hee, and the new Isabel Marant store.

Of course, there's also the rue des Francs-Bourgeois which also carries a lot of popular brands: Darel, Comptoir des cotonniers, Antoine & Lili, Muji, Ba&Sh, Ted Baker, Penhaligon, Khiels, American Retro and so on!

Voilà! I don't think I can be exhaustive as this is one of the most lively and ever changing area of Paris, fashion wise.
There's always something new and you just have to wander and "get lost" to discover fashion treasures.

^ Oh thanks I don't think I found half those shops you mentioned! Can you please tell which street is Isabel Marant, did you say Rue de Poitou, thats right?

Isabel Marant is 47 rue de Saintonge. I always want to raid her stores!
I can't wait for her sales and the new SS 08 collection!!

Oh, a new Marant store.. I'll have to visit it.
Is the rue de Charonne store still open?

Anyone have experience of the Repetto store sale? Or any shop that carries a lot of Repetto.. I'm thinking about getting a pair of Zizi's, but would prefer not to pay retail if possible ^_^ especially since the sales are still on when I'm there..

Stellamare, the boutique rue de Charonne is still opened.

I know there's a Repetto stock store located 24, rue de Châteaudun in the 9th arrdt which sells items from previous seasons at cut prices.
Then you have the store near the Opera but I don't know if the sales are interesting.

Thanks Aby, you so helpful with addresses!

Their's a Isabel Marant skirt I want and its sold out at Le Bon Marche and Printemps...I can't wait till the sales :buzz:

Does anybody know about good fabric/textile stores open to the public in Paris?
