The silk layer has started to wear away in areas, and frayed on the edges. The newspaper is also doing this, exposing the thick black leather underneath. There was a really nice bag on Y! that showed the wearing out of this fabric treatment too.

I have been in touch with Song Song & they say they have a khaki wool blazer and long coat tweed fabric also lt grey wool trousers with braces. All pieces for women . I can not get them to give me a better description such as color of coat and style. Has anyone seen these items at SongSong or familiar with these items from somewhere else? Any help will be appreciated.

:D

I'd heard it discussed a bit, but hadn't seen images, Paul Harnden for Comme des Garcons

Has anyone seen the khaki green wool jackets? What do you think and anyone have a picture of the color?

opinion

Has anyone seen the Priest coat for women, the leather jerkin, and the red sparkly shoe... Any opinions please....

that's really great, they do an excellent job of producing video

this might sound like an odd thing to say...
but i think i might actually like his work best in photographs...
or at least in a particular environment...

they have such a quality about them that is of a particular time and place...
they seem out of place in a cold, crazy, chaotic place like manhattan...
they really cry to be in the countryside...
or at least in a european city...
imho...

thanks for those last images runner...
the pic in the distillery is great...
it almost looks like it could be 1930's france to me...

in the original scenery his creative mind pictures at the root, there is life of native americans.
though it seems that it metamorphoses, by the time it is materialized as a product, to something that could look like it belongs in some european countryside.
in that case, what I think of is fabre, the entomologist.

you're welcome softgrey
will scan the distillery images later.

thank you for the explanation runner...and for your point of view...
:flower:...

very interesting...
i had not heard of jean henri fabre so i had to look it up...

the reference is excellent...and the image you posted, lovely...
i can actually imagine someone wearing these pieces whilst chasing insects...
perhaps carrying a butterfly net...
and then writing a book about it...
it fits perfectly...
:P

*i found this bit particularly fascinating and charming...
i think i would like to see a film or video like this...

In one of Fabre's most famous experiments, he arranged processionary caterpillars to form a continuous loop around the edge of a pot. As each caterpillar instinctively followed the silken trail of the caterpillars in front of it, the group moved around in a circle for seven days.
