She is mostly known from being the daughter of Paula Yates and Bob Geldof.
Paula was a TV presenter I think and Bob is an artist and started the Live Aid. A pop/rock gala where musicartists collect for poor people. She also writes columns in Elle Girl.

why does she get so much attention for being a nobody? yeah, fair enough, she's written a few articles and done a few programmey things but that's all bc of her father. her articles in ellegirl were rubbish and disgustingly pompous.

Pop singer threatens to punch Peaches

Last updated at 09:08am on 28th September 2006

Socialite Peaches Geldof might want to tighten up her security, after pop singer Lilly Allen said she would like to "kick her over and then kick her even harder when she was down."
But what has Peaches done to deserve this outburst?
Bob Geldof's daughter apparently infuriated Ms Allen with her documentary on Islam, screened earlier this year on Channel 4, which she slated as "really awful."
She ranted on Galaxy Radio in Manchester: "I watched her on Richard and Judy - she was like 'You know, I just really think, that, like kids in this country just like, don't know enough about Islam.'
"What do you know about Islam, you useless oaf?"
The 21-year-old singer however, really let loose when off air, declaring she wanted to "kick the **** out of" the 17-year-old.
There is apparently no star safe from Lilly Allen's wrath - she branded Paris Hilton "hideously untalented," said she was disgusted that cancer survivor Kylie Minogue is due to headline Glastonbury festival next year, and thinks Madonna is "overrated." Both Peaches and Lilly Allen are well known faces on the party circuit so it may not be too long before a show-down.

Well what does Paris Hilton do that makes her so famous? Peaches has intelligence, she has recently recorded a very good documentry on size 0 models for Trevor McDonald (ITV) - which I was quite impressed with, whereas Paris Hilton is a airhead...walks around with a lazy eye and showing off her knickers - but yet everyone knows her!?

They're both nobodies. But at least Paris doesn't pretend to be even remotely intelligent, she thrives off of her stupidity.

I saw Bob Geldof was at the Labour Party Conference sitting along side Gordon Brown and I just thought, who the hell are you? Get back to the bloody Boomtown Rats. I think the same of Peaches. They both try to get into deeper issues yet at the same time are massive hypocrites, riding on their lack of intelligence because they have no other talent. It just annoys me that there are so many people who DO know about Islam, about the war in Iraq, size 0 models, whatever and yet we have to listen to a poser 17 year old celeb teenager's opinions and take them seriously.

Sorry, I rant way too much

She's not very nice at all, according to a couple of friends of mine who know her. As for the image she puts out to the public, I really think she desperately strives in making her opinions sound controversial that it's really quite pathetic. I don't take her seriously at all.

Saying all that, I do like her recent outfits :flower:

Exactly. I don't believe she's intelligent at all. She tries too hard to be controversial so everyone thinks she's this little rebellious girl.

Peaches Geldof was stopped at a London clothes shop yesterday on suspicion of shoplifting.
The 17-year-old daughter of Bob Geldof was questioned by security guards as she began walking out of Urban Outfitters on Oxford Street wearing a bulky coat which still had a security tag on.
Alarms at the fashion emporium sounded and Miss Geldof was asked to come inside for questioning.
Sources at the shop claim Miss Geldof had tried to leave without paying for the coat, and was eventually allowed to go after coming to an arrangement over payment.
Miss Geldof disputed that version of events last night, and was adamant she had in fact paid for the coat, and that cashiers had simply forgotten to remove the alarm tag.
Security guards at the shop questioned her for an hour and a half before she eventually left. Police were not called.
By the time she left at 4.30pm, a hoard of paparazzi photographers had gathered outside to snap her leaving in a silver chauffeur-driven Mercedes limousine which had been summoned to collect her from the rear of the shop to avoid embarrassment.
A source at the store said security guards thought Peaches might not have paid for the coat and was walking out wearing it anyway.
"We could not find a record of her having paid for it and she did not appear to have a receipt. We checked her bags as well,"
"In the end, news had got out and photographers were starting to gather outside.
"We came to an agreement and she left through the back door at the store after about an hour and a half."
Miss Geldof left the shop with her head bowed, carrying what appeared to be a number of bags bearing the shop's logo.
Asked what had happened, she remained silent, though her companion replied: "We've been shopping - what does it look like?"
When questioned last night at her south London home, Peaches disputed the shop source's version of events.
She appeared adamant that the store's security was to blame - saying she had paid for the coat and that the security tag had mistakenly been left attached to it.
"I paid for it obviously but they left the tag on. It's really nothing," she said.
Her father Sir Bob was not available for comment last night, though the messages system on his mobile phone hinted that he was out of the country in Spain where the family have a holiday home.
A spokesperson for Urban Outfitters was unavailable for comment.
Outspoken Peaches has made headlines recently for partying apparently against her father's wishes.
But reports prompted Sir Bob, 55, to speak out in her defence, telling friends she was "just a normal child" and "an all right kid".
He spoke of his love and pride for Peaches, one of three daughters he fathered with Paula Yates, and went on to speak of the difficult "family story" - a reference to Paula's death from an overdose. And in his usual forthright manner, he added that if he ever thought she really was in any danger, he would go "f***ing ballistic" at her "like only Bob Geldof can".
