lol...but by using obnoxiously bright colors and sparkles, it kind of defeats the whole purpose, or should I say IDEA of them! Think about their name..peasant skirt, peasant being the key word! I do have to say I love this picture, I think that Nicky really pulled the look off, yes it is tie dyed, and she doesn't exactly have a boho or hippie look going on, but she could pull it off. That outfit could have easily looked very ticky-tacky, but imho it didn't. I'm not a fan of peasant skirts on everyone, especially not the Olsen's. I think that it makes them look even shorter than they are, I think you should be at least 5'2" to wear a a peasant skirt! lol..but I think that Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton (sometimes Nicky), and Victoria Beckham can really pull them off and look fabulous in them!! And when Jessica or Victoria wear their hair down with a peasant skirt I think they actually look pretty boho, which is saying something because as we all know they're usually considered the 'glam girls'!
I agree they are slimming. I too am a bit heavy...I'm working on it though cuz I will be slim again. Tangent. The tiered version of the peasant skirt is not that cute. I cannot stand when they are not lined if they are in a very light color. I like the long peasant skirts not the ones that fall at the knee. I think that this medium skirt makes people's calves look bigger than they really are.Aziandoll said:To be honest, I do like them... they are way better looking on most people than a mini skirt or (good grief) those tiered miniskirts that make you look like a middle schooler. I am more on the heavy side, and cropped jeans, miniskirts, just don't look right on me... the peasant skirt actually looks slimming, if you get the right cut. All the ones I have are from India, and they are good quality. I usually wear mine with a black cardigan, camisole, and Dr. Scholl's. For me, it's an easy way of dressing up without having to worry about hose, or worry about someone looking up your skirt.![]()

I saw a white full length one and was just about to take it off the rack when I looked up and saw another girl wearing something almost exactly like it at another counter. Needless to say, I put it back and left. Definitely not getting one now.
