My opinion=The peasant skirt is an instant way to look poor. I think especially the tiered ones are awful. I'm just critical today, but I thought it was cute on Mary-Kate Olsen, but now I realize that it makes me mad that celebrities with money can wear this, but my clothing looks more expensive, and I'm in serious debt.

I really love the skirts, and even though it is a "trend" now, I still wear them. I don't see why I should stop wearing them just because they have gotten popular. They're fun and comfortable, and they go well with my body.

I bought a couple from H&M that I just love. They're so comfy. i didn't even know they were supposed to look "cheap" until I read this thread. I also have huge hips and a huge butt, and thought that these skirts were actually GOOD for that, because they're not skin tight. Anyway, they're comfortable and since I don't want to anywhere near pants in this heat, and i can easily sit at my desk for hours with comfort, I'll just go on liking them.

I'd say it's what you wear with the peasant skirt that makes or breaks it.I wear mine with body hugging plain tops (as my skirts are very colourful!) then accessorize with bold african jewellery. I will try and post a photo of the jewellery sometime.

i duno i think the peasant skirt is just too comman now. I'm sick of seeing them. i feel like there last season. every second person is wearing them.i think people have to wear them with different things for it to look fresh now. i'm not being one of those "oh there popular I'm not wearing it" . it just seems everyone wears them the same, and it looks like a uniform. people need to mix them up.

hmm my above comment is more of a selfish reason for me. i mean people can wear whatever makes them happy. i just get so bored looking at people dressed the same. i just want people to dress differently so that they look more interesting for me to look at. lol. i'm not saying i don't wear things that everyone else does. but yeah i hope you understand what i'm getting at.... hmm lol maybe not.
