Fall clothes are my favorite. Even though it is 102 degrees where I live right now, I still want to bring out that wardrobe! Of course, I hold back for fear of heat stroke and odd looks from strangers.

It's a shame that pencil skirts are considered for mostly only older women... young girls should be able to cover their legs, too! I think it's a very respectable look... throw on some cute heels and call it a day! I think a girl in her mid-teen could pull off a pencil skirt, if done right...

I am taken with the Ali-McGraw/Love Story look for the Fall. Must be from an editorial I looked through recently.

Really, I think it's more the idea of having a coherent look that appeals to me.

i brought teen vogue out of boredem a couple days ago too, it's a quilty pleasure

i think im gonna go back to easy dressing. dresses and tights and jackets
brought loads of trapeze dresses and ankle boots. very comfortable

i have a hard time finding things to wear in summer..
my style is sort of rock'n'roll hippie mixed with inspirations from men's wear.

so i'm wearing hippie-dresses.. but i find it really hard with what i should wear on "bottom" you know.. it's too hot to wear long pants and i do not want to show off my legs.
and on top.. i'm stuck to wearing vests and basic tops...

any ideas what else i could wear?

Ummm..is it too cliche to say leggings or tights maybe? Though you did mention it was too hot. Yea that was bad advice? Anyone with more experience want to make up for that crap I just typed?

with dresses I like when something is going on on the top, that's why I like them short I wear them with tights or leggins, but usually I prefer black tights

that's funny but I don't have any little black dress
I was looking for one, but I've never seen that perfect one that I dream about so I don't have any

I am toally in love with pencil skirts at the moment, but at 16 do you think I'm too young to wear one? I'd like to but I'm worried it would look a little strange on me, almost like a wannabe secetary

well i'm 27 but i look 17 and i wear pencil skirts to death, maybe because i dont want to look 17, but i dont think it makes me look 67, i find a way to make it appropriate, they all fall above the knee, i wear them with fun vintagey shoes, and sometimes i wear them with an american apparel tee, sometimes a very simple blouse, it can be really cute with a skinny scarve or tie, and a structured bag, i say it is a lil secretary but thats the fun, as long as the cut is good and the overall effect is fresh and flirty it will look "young"
