Pete Doherty revealed his heart stopped and he ended up on life support after suffering 'poisoning' at his home last month.
The former Libertines frontman was forced to cancel several gigs in Ireland after being hospitalised.
At the time, his spokesperson said he was suffering from 'exhaustion', but now the troubled rocker has revealed the terrifying extent of his health troubles.

The 30-year-old was rushed to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon on October 12 after falling ill at his Wiltshire home.
He told this week's NME magazine: 'If I hadn't been on a life support machine I'd have been in Ireland. But my heart stopped.'
The former d**g addict insisted the implant he has been fitted with to keep him off c***ne had nothing to do with his medical drama.
He explained: 'It was a really strange turn of events. Obviously, their [the doctors’] immediate thought was that it was to do with d***s, but it wasn’t - it was some kind of poisoning.
'What happened? Well, I don’t know, I don’t remember. I thought I was a taxi driver offering to take everyone to Elephant and Castle (south London). I was running into the walls, making steering wheel signs with my hands. And then I just stopped. My body just stopped.
'I woke up and the doctors were asking "Do you know your name?". I said "Yeah, Peter." And they said "Do you know where you are?". I said "Well, I’m in a hospital." It was like 20 Questions.'
Doherty stayed overnight in hospital before being given the all-clear by doctors.
However, Doherty added medical experts still had concerns about 'my heart rate'.
The musician cancelled gigs in Dublin, Belfast and Galway, but is hoping to resume his tour next month.
At the time of his hospitalisation, Doherty's spokesperson said he was suffering from 'exhaustion and breathing difficulties'.
