Phoebe Philo - Life After Chloe - *Update* Creative Director for Celine

It prolly isn't easy either for phoebe to leave chloe after the whole things she's done... :ermm:
Every woman, i guess, have two main jobs... her carrier and a job as a woman... there'll come the time when they have to chose one of them..
My mom is a busy woman also.. but she's scaled down after giving birth of my sister.. she told me, being a mother is a priceless occupation..:innocent:
So even tho it's a big lose, i support phoebe and her family :flower:
she's a great mom.. after all the success she's achieved, she left it for her family... isn't it amazing??:bounce:

I'm kind of worry RM for chloe... he's a good designer... amazingly good... but I don't think he's a chloe-wise designer.. :ninja::innocent:

i think the combination of Mouret and Chloe could be very nice. a "laid-back" version of Mouret to have more of a Chloe style would be interesting...

i'll be keeping an open mind :flower:

i so agree that the combination of mouret and chloe could theoretically be amazing. i'm always wanting to wear chloe clothes because i love the aesthetics, but precisely because they cut away from the body and i'm so petite, i am always swallowed up by chloe clothes....i'm excited to see....

Has Phoebe quit Chloe?

Wednesday, December 14, 2005

(NEW YORK) It looks like Phoebe Philo has bade au revoir to Chloé.
The designer made a rare appearance at the Duke Theater in New York last Wednesday, where she attended the Armitage Gone! dance company’s performance of “in this dream that dogs me,” choreographed by Karole Armitage. At the artsy fundraiser, Philo remained mum about her current status at the Richemont-owned fashion house. But her friends, on the other hand, were anything but tight-lipped. “It’s a done deal,” one said. “She’s quit.” A Chloé spokesperson had no comment.

^ i so didn't see that coming...:p it's final, i don't care, that's why i started grieving around the time this thread was started.

Wow, I'm surprised you guys are so heartbroken. I always preferred Stella and never liked Phoebe. Maybe I should look over her past collections.

I for one am excited. Bring on the new designer! I've always preferred Roland to Phoebe.

That's a shame. I really like what Phoebe did at Chloe. I hope they find a better designer than Mouret.

If Phoebe is gone, then I can stop obsessing who will get more coverage between Chloe and Stella. Don't get me wrong I like what Phoebe did for the SS2006 collection but I just prefer Stella :p

i think my problem is that Chloe ,has always had, and now revivified its signature nonchalant atttitude.

tere is no other formula for it! it's not sexual, it's not about tailoring. it's french and effortless.

i'm just afraid mouret will inject his polished side into chloe, and that will be, forgive me, crap. but what do i know..:innocent:

^Don't worry Pastry, I totally agree with you on the crap thing ;). And another thing, they have very, very different taste in fabric choice so if he does take over, it's gonna be interesting.....

I am sure if Roland Muret took over Chloe he will do a great job!! He is a such good man and work really hard and have passion in Fashion!!

Roland Mouret is definitely not an option!
the team is doing fine as it has always done so nobody should worry about the future at chloé

i like phoebe's tone at chloe...much preferred her to stella...i hope this isn't true. if it is then i'd love to see her design for her own label.

i pray you have somekind of inside info, cause no matter how talented he is, i dont think RM suits Chloe
i seriously like what Y.M. and the team have been doing for Chloe that far, but i'm not sure for how long the Chloe bosses plan to keep the team as it is

Chloe does need a 'star' designer no? even if it is Y.M.

Phoebe 's sooo good for Chloé she portrays the Chloé woman to perfection. it ll be hard for anybody else to be as a good a match as she is. Mouret s great but the style s not the same

When do you all think the new designer will be announced?

Pastry- i think you made a great point about chloe being all about nonchalance, that is excatly why I loved it as well, I hope they will be able to keep in line with that same attitude.

^ that's a good question. i wonder when Toledano will make it official so that i can start wearing black

roland mouret at the helm of chloé? i wouldn't entertain the idea.

I would be completely devistated if Phoebe left Chole. However, I understand her yurning to be with her child. As I am a mother of an eight month old daughter, named after Phoebe, I too would want to be available for my little girl.

I agree 100%. I am still hoping that this turns out to not be true

I disagree with the poster who said that Chloe needs a star designer. No house needs a star designer in my opinion. There are too many designers today who concentrate so hard on being famous that their work suffers. Stella McCartney is the number one example of this. Phoebe has managed to do wonders at Chloe without being a fashion gossip/party page staple or having the details of her personal life plastered across the tabloids. She does what all designers should do-she lets the clothes speak for themselves. I admire her greatly and hope to see her with her own label one day. I would definitely be a customer.

yeah.. but phoebe isn't the daughter of a beatle..
just playing devils advocate here.. but stella wasn't as terrible as some make it sound to be..got to give her at least some credit, right?^_^ she was a different kind distillation of the chloe girl.. lets just hope for the best.

some pics from f/w2000 style.com.. (do you rbr the days when the rise of pants was that height..?)
