yep its difficult,i try to make it btter for me and yes i LOVE fashion a lot!.mainly we worked with some local designers and with some brands too...there´s a store that have some past season clothing by italian brands so i used some clothes from gucci and max mara

we had gucci here but its closed like a year ago.....and the max mara store dont want to appear on magazines (ridiculous attitude)

maybe later i post some of my work..........
Xone... you should definintely post some of your work... we would love to see it? You're a stylist, right?

softgrey... are you a designer?

nope...i'm a stylist...what about you?...stylist?...agent?...

gisele works for $150 dollars a day ???

softy, you shouldnt act like you have some kind of secret knowledge.
you said kate grand didnt work for bazaar & I explained to you that shes been editing for at least mobnths there.
you are claiming that gisele earned $150 a day for her last W cover; and michael thompson earned $150 a day for shotting her & every W assignment?
the next model from W & photog I run into, I am going to ask them about te figures you claim.
youre saying that bruce weber shot te elephants story for $150 a day?
next time I see him on newtown lane I'm going to ask him about that. he's very nice you know.
gisele DOES NOT work for $150 a day.
nor does roversi or teller or weber.
of course I know that editorial pays much than campaigns.
the figures you quote are ridiculously low & you shouldnt take such a condescending attitude. your assumptions are wrong.

Top models and all models do editorial for 150 a day and sometimes at a loss (to fly themselves in to shoot a story if it isn't a location but it is say, ny, and the girl was in paris).

photogs?

youre also claiming that superstar photographers roversi, weber, klein, mcdean, sims, knight thompson etc are also paid $150 a day.
its not the case & thats an outrageous & uninformed claim.

Lady Grey.......if u think u have the real numbers and all the rest are wrong,it would be nice if u tell us all the rates..........

I don't think softgrey is the one with the condescending attitude...

haven't you been reading the thread? Photogs. like Michael Thompson, Craig McDean and Nick Knight probably all have CONTRACTS with their respective publications. And if this is the case, then the $150 day rate doesn't apply to them. End of story.

And yeah... I do believe that Gisele would do editorial for $150 day. Doing editorial keeps her on the edge and "relevant" to the fashion community. As she continues to take on these big money commercial jobs like victoria secrets, then the editorial work is what allows her to keep one foot in "high-fashion". It's actually a great situation to be in. She can straddle the best of both worlds.

paolo & juergen are not minimum wage

a bit more info...
rates...for editorial ie-W magazine...every single person from the model to the photog to the assts make $150/day...flat fee...standard...no exceptions...

paolo roversi does not have a contract with w & he does not earn $150 a day.
nueva you can say that gisele & every other model earns $150 a day from W. I am well aware that editorial pays little but gisele does not work for $150 a day.
I was not the person asking these salary questions but i'm happy to dispel the idea of roversi earning $150 a day.
same with juergen teller. he doesnt work for W on contract & he doesnt earn $150 a day. I spoke with jessica miller about her teller vegas shoot & I seriously doubt either was earning $150 a day.
the next editorial model & photographer I can speak with candidly & politely enough about this sensitive topic [its extremely impolite to talk about this at all, and also ONLY THE PHOTOGRAPHER, MODEL, THEIR AGENT & THE IRS KNOW THE REAL NUMBERS of take home pay] I will.

finally, I wish you all the best in the world of NYC fashion. I guarantee you I was working in the nyc fashion business long long before you were, and i suspect longer than softy too. hopefully that means we can still be friends.
lets be friends girls, and share our knowledge. I definitely believe Ive been in fashion longer than both of you.

MEOW! :meow:

Retract those claws sweetheart... no need to get your panties all in a bunch. Geesh, what started as a friendly, innocent thread has turned into a ridiculous, nasty debate over what? Silliness. Mr. Lee just asked an innocent yet intriguing question, and all of us, to the best of our ability and knowledge, attempted to answer this question. No one was professing to have the most accurate or definitive answer... it was all just friendly speculation. Until you actually berated us on some of our responses, of course! As you say, we were all just "sharing our knowledge"...sharing our knowledge based on our past individual experiences. But apparently, you seem to know it all. You're right. We're wrong. Is that what you want to hear? Will that make you happy? Fine with me. I really don't care that much. Not trying to impose my opinions on anyone... just trying to answer the guys question... and definitely not trying to be a know-it-all-i'm-a-fashion-expert-and-I've-been-in-this-business-longer-than-all-of-you-type-of-crap. So who were you calling condescending again? Uh, yeah... that's what I thought. But at the end of it all, you're absolutely, positively right on one thing that I know we can all agree on: ONLY THE PHOTOGRAPHER, MODEL, THEIR AGENT & THE IRS KNOW THE REAL NUMBERS. So let's just agree that ALL OF US (not you, not me, but everyone on this thread) isn't completely accurate with the numbers their throwing around I realize that. I'm cool with that. So to answer Mr. Lee's original question without provoking any further drama: Top photographers and top models make a shitload of money. Tons of it. period. point blank. end of story.

friends!

we are all friends here & fashion lovers.
when we speak to models or photographers or editors we should share it if its discrete & appropriate & allowable.
i totally agree we are sharing knowledge & expressing opinions. thats what brought us here and keeps us together.
friends!! hugs!!

well...poeple can believe who they want to believe...no point in arguing about something ...it's really a waste of time...

lady grey keeps backtracking and overlooking it when he makes huge erroneous statements...ie-alex white is on contract to W...

everyone else seems to agree on industry standards...so i say believe who you like...if anyone eventually does get into the business...they'll find out the truth pretty quickly...

i cannot believe that anyone would go to a party and meet a model and ask her how much she makes...sounds like very bad manners to me...and there are plenty of people in the industry who know what the rates are,...how about everyone who works at the magazine and pays the fees...?...plus...as i said...it's standard ...
and yes lady grey...i know bruce weber is a very nice man...so is paolo roversi...

and maybe lady grey would like to share with us what he does and some of his work...???...

let's go to the videotape/fineprint....

alex white is W's "Fashion Director" on the masthead and DOES have a contract at a yearly or multi-year wage.
Of course it's rude to ask bruce weber "does W pay you $150 a day?" but anyway he earns a lot more from W than that and I am going to raise this topic in abstract with the next editorial photographer &/or model I talk to.
<edit>we would know about katie grand's & alex white's sweet yearly/multi-year contracts with hearst & fairchild, respectively.
Hugs!!

softy you should read your W & bazaars more closely like the fashionistas that we are & you would know about katie grand's & alex white's sweet yearly/multi-year contracts with hearst & fairchild, respectively.

I have the feeling the Lady is one of those.....Trolls?? Otherwise, why get so upset about what others are writing, but never have any facts of your own to back it up? Seems to me someone's trying to simply trying to lay the bait...

Oh ok^_^ well i'm working a bit as a model ;) I did some commercial things in the Netherlands and the last thing i did was a tv-commercial for Canada, US and South-Amerika (maybe it's gonna be on tv world-wide) the commercial was for Gatorade and called: "everyday athletes" there're all kind of sporters in the commercial and I am the tennisplayer (pic in my avator) it's now on tv in the US i guess. I like doing commercial things but I'd really love to do something more in the fashion-industry so maybe I'm going to send some pictures to a couple of agencies in the hope they like my look..
