Pirate Boots - Vivienne Westwood

Hi all... I recently got the VW pirate boots see pic [ just like sienna’s] although im SO hanging for winter to wear them in….does anyone have any suggestions as to how to distress them? I think they look much better like this. I want the straps to be the more orange-tan colour like sienna’s……or is it best to just wear them in naturally? ..thanks loves :flower:

congrats^i love those!!
i would wear them in naturally ;)
how do they size?

emmaj -I suppose if you wanted to make them go tan you could oil them (I did that with my lv so it didn't look so 'new') but I'd be careful doing that next to the suede. I would just wear them a lot during the summer so they get sun.

I've got the yellow leather ones, adore them and they are the most comfortable boots ever. Haven't worn them much this winter though, hopefully they'll get more wear in the summer.

They run tts, maybe a bit narrow, on the smaller side of tts. I had the pair that Sienna had (my first designer boots! I dragged my mum to the Conduit store back when they were £220, then sold them for the same amount when I saw the yellow ones on ebay). The suede is beautiful but too high maintenance for me.

they are building a vivienne westwood store here in L.A. on Melrose! I can't wait until it opens..Im totally going to go try on a pair when I can try different sizes..

In my case emmaj I've just worn mine in naturally and they look gorgeous for it.

Hey, where did you get yours from? I'm in WA too. Did you get them online?

Leyla m- I received a size3 UK . it fits perfectly, they are a little narrow but I have very narrow and small feet though haha…. they are quite adjustable because of the straps to suit anyone
Mikki- I am very lucky to have a friend in London who got them for me from the VW boutique!!

Thankyou all for your advice…I think I may wear them in naturally. I would be horrified with myself if I destroyed them accidently!!

I heard about that!!! The girls in the Glasgow boutique told me when I complained I always have to wait until I'm in Japan/HK/Scotland to get my Vivienne fix. I'm never down in LA, but if they do mail orders I'll definitely need to be careful!

Although I'm surprised they picked LA over NYC (I know she used to have a boutique in NYC ages ago though-so maybe they decided to try a different market?)

I got my black leather pair a month or two ago and am so happy.
I did a mail order through The World's End, because Hervia were out of stock.
I have wanted them ever since high school...so it's still a bit of a dream actually being able to put them on whenever i feel like it.

I was also surprised by how subtle they can look tucked under pants.

total investment success.
Pretty excited to see how they age.
Also, now, I'm D Y I N G for another pair!

p.s. The World's End staff are probably the most helpful and kind people i have ever dealt with.

matay, CONGRATS!
i also just ordered them a few days ago and they should hopefully reach me tomorrow.
i waited AGES for hervia to restock my size as i refuse to pay the price they charge in paris where i did find them...
i initially wanted the mustard but tried both on and took the black.
will post pics also when i recieve them.

on another note, does the worlds end store have a website?
strangely enough their HQ in manchester said they do not do mail order and i needed to check online???!!

These boots are really awesome, so I've got a new item to save money for: a pair for me ;)

Congrats Matay (& leyla)! But yeah ^ I was wondering this too. I didn't think they did and that you could do phone order...but if they told you no, how did you get yours matay? :flower:

thanks for the love.

Okay, The World's End totally does have a website with all the contact details on it and pics of some of the pieces they offer. (they don;t show any of the shoes, but i'm pretty sure they offer the "classic" Westwood styles, and you can see them in the background of some of the pictures n the site)

The site itself is a link from Westwood's own site.
On the homepage it has a little arm with a cutlass and it says "New Site Launched" click it and The World's End information and products page will appear ( you made need to stretch the viewing box up and down in order to see product descriptions and prices)

Good luck and happy purchasing!

I read through this thread a bit and appearantly the pirate boots run true to size, right?

I'm a bit confused by the sizing on NAP's site. The pirate boots have been on sale for a while but the only sizes that are left are IT35 and IT35.5. Do they really sell such tiny boots or did they convert the sizes inaccurately? I thought it was more like this: IT35.5 = FR36.5 = UK3, no? Or is it just wishful thinking because I'm a UK3? I would die to have a pair of Westwood pirate boots and now that they're on sale they're basically less expensive than most of the crappy knock offs, so it would be awesome if I could get them.

I get the same feeling! I wanted them for such a long time that when I finally got them I was in a dream world :p They look good tucked under pants!
