Pizza Hut Waitress Gets $10,000 Tip

Again, I want to know where everyone lives that it costs so much money for an in-state resident to go to college! Maybe my state is just cheap but $10,000 would cover 4 years of tuition plus books. And it would pay for like 8 years at community college

At my local university (WSU), they figure with all the expenses combined it'll cost you an average of $19,000 per year.

^ That's with room and board :p If she lived at home and worked and used the money only for tuition she could pay for at least 2 years at a community college.

PS: State colleges and universities are expensive outside of the South & Southwest apparently :(

That's true. Either way, she probably won't have to worry as much about paying for college. :D

That's what it's starting to seem like, unfortunately! I better start saving now if I want to be able to afford going to college. Or maybe I could just get a job at the local Pizza Hut. :innocent:

One of my cousins is going to a high school in Massachusetts that costs $37,000 a year. She is 14 and she has an athletic and theatre scholarship but still - it's amazing what some schools can cost

^^ It's crazy because I could live here and go to school full-time for 4 years and it would cost $8,000 in tuition but we also have this thing called the "Millenium Scholarship" so if you have a weighted GPA high school GPA of 3.25 or higher and attend a university, they will take off $80 each semester for 12 credits. So if you take a 16 credit load, you would pay $1,920 less each year! So it would actually cost around $4,000 for 4 years of tuition if you had a good GPA in high school

LOL, I sort of assumed it was pretty cheap in other states as well. Unfortunately, I decided to go to a private school out-of-state so I'm paying around $40,000 for everything

very touching story:heart:

**lol this reminds me of my aunt's husband
whenever he gets "drunk" on the airplane, he gives free gifts to the air hostesses ,watches , perfumes ,..$3000 or $4000 cash :rolleyes:

You know, this situation brings to mind what I've always wanted to do. I always thought to myself, if by chance (chances are low since I don't play often) I won the state lottery I would love to help out a family in need. Or see someone driving a car that's about to die and buy them a new car. Something like that. This story is great!

Without room and board, WSU costs around $7400/year plus the cost of books. Your local unversity is awfully inexpensive (not that that's a bad thing)!

a truely touching story:heart:

reminds me of a tv show we have in the uk called secret millionare were someone goes undercover to poor areas etc. and find out what people need and then gives money to them.

He came to my area and bought some one the deposit for a house .. and build a comunity centre and gave money to the samerian church. It jsut shows not everyone is greedy with money.

when my mum was my age back in the 80's .. she was a waitress and she got a hundred pound tip (lot o f money back then) and she got fired !!! cos her boss said she must have been flirting or something. I just hope that this girls boss didnt take offence or shout at her for it.

Also just out of interest in pizza hut do they keep individual tips or put them in a pot to split ??

^ I don't know about splitting tips @ Pizza Hut, but my sister had the same experience in receiving a big tip on a lavish restaurant dinner. She was fired the same evening by the head chef who was jealous that she made more money that day than he did! Schmuck.
