Mills awarded $48.6M from McCartney

^what if it's the husband ditching his wife of some loyal 10 years for a younger woman?

Marriage are partnerships. You put alot of time and effort into some. Some people get screwed, and in those cases recompensation is justified.

exactly my point. There should be divorce laws to protect people from this.

If you get divorced, you should leave with what you came in, nothing more or less. Why should i be forced to give you anything thats mine? Crazy..

But if they did then how would Ms. Mills make her living?

Yes, but not in this case. In court Ms. Mills showed that they didn't contribute anything to the marriage of four years except a daughter, so why should she be compensated for being a gold digger? She shouldn't. And Paul didn't leave Heather for a younger woman, SHE left him because of...well actually everything she said in court was a lie since there is no evidence to back it up so therefore she left him because she wanted to and wanted his money. What a classy lady.

I know I really should stay out of this topic  but I have to clarify something-it was Paul McCartney that filed for separation from Heather Mills. That I remember distinctly from the news reports at the time.

Now he is reportedly seeing 2 women (both much younger) and also reportedly hoping to introduce one of them to his 5-year old daughter. On top of that he makes unflattering comparisons between his ex and his late wife in a recent interview. (I guess little Beatrice can thank him for that later) Personally, I find it all  but in the public's eyes it seems he can do no wrong. I am waiting to see how people react when Heather gets a new boyfriend....

IMHO, I don't feel any woman should have to "prove" her contribution to a marriage. Should we have to keep a journal detailing laundry we do, diapers we change, meals we cook or physical intimacy we provide just in case of a divorce?

Someone posted a comment about a background check. The UK tabloids and her ex husband gave Paul all the background he needed. He chose to continue the relationship. No one forced him into it.

Well this is all alleged as you say and can not be confirmed and because it is from a tabloid probably isn't true to begin with so I won't comment on it. But for the record all the reports I've seen is he is dating one woman and she is a brunette from New York.

I'm not saying that either partner should keep a diary of what they do and don't do in the marriage but if you are looking into financial backgrounds which the court WAS at the time to decide how much Heather should get then you and everyone else saw that she didn't contribute ONE penny therefore she should not get half of his estate. PLUS she lied about her financial state before she got married to Paul to make it look like she wasn't a gold digger  That obviously went over really well! The way she has acted throughout the whole divorce trial just proves what kind of bad person she is and how she is using their daughter for her own gain. I can't feel sorry for her.

You're right the poor ole sap still believed in love and thought because Heather acted like a good person at the time and reeled him in like a fish on a hook. And just after his wife of 20 years had passed. Yeah I really can't blame him for "knowing what he was getting into":innocent:

^Believing in "love" is not an excuse; I'm sure he was fairly warned.

I do believe stylegurrl raises some valid poitns.

This woman is just so pathetic, I can't believe she got her money and now she's STILL rambling on about Paul. I think she needs to get over him, he's lucky to have her out of his life.

I wish Paul's three girlfriends the best of luck, says Heather Mills in first TV taunt since divorce

.... and she reveals she still fights with the judge 'every day' in an attempt to get the full court transcripts released

She had managed to keep her counsel for three weeks.

But less than a month after being labelled a fantasist in court, an unrepentant Heather Mills went back on to the attack yesterday.

Unable to keep silent any longer, she taunted ex-husband Sir Paul McCartney, claiming he had three girlfriends.

Back on the attack: A fiery Heather Mills during yesterday's interview on GMTV

Speaking at length on GMTV, she also boasted about "baptising" the former Beatle's lawyer, Fiona Shackleton, by pouring water over her.
In her first interview since being awarded £24.3million in the divorce settlement, the former model told GMTV host Andrew Castle: "I think he's got three different girlfriends, so I wish all the girls the best of luck."
She added: "Better them than me."
Although she did not name the women she was referring to, few doubted who she had in mind.
Sir Paul, 65, was pictured relaxing on the beach as he holidayed with New York socialite Nancy Shevell in the Caribbean last week.
In recent months, he has been seen on several dates with actress Rosanna Arquette.

He is also understood to have become close to former Olympic horserider Tanya Larrigan.

In a reference to the now infamous Shackleton incident, Miss Mills said she poured a glass of water over the lawyer's head on the final day of the divorce hearing because she "said something under her breath".
An unrepentant Miss Mills, 40, said: "I cleansed and baptised her. I thought she looked fantastic - I thought it did her the world of good."
She said she had been offered "lots of jobs for re-creating looks for women" as a result.
"I have no regrets," she added.

Miss Mills described her divorce battle with Sir Paul - in which she represented herself - as "David versus Goliath".
She said she is "arguing on a daily basis" with the judge Mr Justice Bennett to get the full transcripts of the case released and described the current available court papers as a "one-sided judgment".
She said she wanted she and Sir Paul's four-year-old daughter Beatrice to know "the truth".

Moving on: Sir Paul McCartney on holiday with Nancy Shevell in Antigua last month

The ex-Beatle has been seen out in London with actress Rosanna Arquette

The interview was beamed from Las Vegas, where Miss Mills was on a panel of ten judges on Donald Trump's Miss U.S.A beauty contest.

She stayed at the five-star Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, where rooms cost up to £5,000 a night, courtesy of the programme.
She said she planned to increase the amount of time she spends in the U.S. where public opinion towards her is "99 per cent positive - I've always wanted to live here but I've always said that I can't live here because I want to keep my daughter near her father," she added.

"But kids have four or five months' holidays a year. So whenever my daughter's with her dad on holiday, I pop over here and do my charity work."
She then admitted: "People either love me or hate me."
Miss Mills insisted she did not regret representing herself in the divorce case, despite being awarded far less than the £125million court documents revealed she initially demanded.

Ranting again: Heather's interview is in the same vein as her outburst on the steps of the High Court month

She accused the judge of releasing a misleading transcript and said: "I never regret representing myself and the only two things (the judge) said was 'explosive' and 'volatile'.
"I want the transcripts released because I was never once explosive and volatile and he was actually referring to my appearance on your programme [GMTV].

"The other thing he said was 'make-believe' because I'd said we'd lived together before we were married. Most people know we lived together before we married and what he should have said is "I don't believe that" and that's it.
"But we'll get there in the end and the truth always outs in the end and the wheel is turning."
In his judgment last month, Mr Justice Bennett said Miss Mills's evidence was "not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid".
Asked about her present relationship with Sir Paul, Miss Mills said: "I have been gagged with no choice of anything else.

"They can write and put out what they like - but I'm not allowed to discuss him in any way whatsoever.

"I'm fighting to be able to clear my name. I don't need to talk about Paul, I've never wished him any harm or to say anything, but you've seen what I've been through the last few years and I want my daughter to know those things are not true."
