Pop Fall / Winter 2010 : Britney Spears by Todd Cole & Takashi Murakami

Looks like some trashy Japanese magazine.:glare:

But haven't something like 40 models shot for this issue?:ermm::huh:

I really don't understand some of the comments. Isn't the whole point that it's tacky, poppy, overloaded and resembles an Asian teenage magazine...? I'm pretty sure that's the exact thing they're aiming for, especially by featuring Britney..

I actually like the tackiness about it, they didnt dilute that exaggerated Japanese aspect

I think this is so utterly genius! The idea of stylizing the cover to look like an Japanese fan-zine sort of magazine is great. Murakami might not be the most original choice, but the weight of his work in that "world" is undeniable. I love this!

Oh my, there are no words to describe in this cover. It's perfectly brilliant in its kitschness and yet a bit revolting to look at.

Agreed. Also I don't see at all the "Courtney Love-ish"

I don't care for the pictures but she needs to be reinvented and I think it's interesting that Pop used her in the issue.

i like the concept but the covers are very ugly

I really like the idea of making a cover like this. Suits very well with the phenomenon that Britney and Murakami are respectively. I think I'm gonna get this. But I've to know more about the content.

MTE. I find those comments hilarious.
Way to miss the point while it's staring right at you.

She looks like the Italian p*rn star Cicciolina. Horrible, hopefully there are alternate covers.

I quite like it. Like someone already said the covers are a bit revolting, I think it fits Britney like a glove, she's inherently tacky and proud.

Having Kelly Brooke in the cover of LOVE is the sort of cheesiness that should be avoided like the plague and I see no one complaining much about it.

Yes I agree. There is a wit about these covers that is completely lacking in the Brooke picture.

After that brash statement cover, I am really looking forward to the contents.
I wasn't intrigued enough to buy the second issue (even though I liked the first one) but Dasha sure got my full attention once again.

Bigger covers..

I think both covers are so gorgeous and adorable. Thanks so much for posting them.

I know I'm posting way too much in this thread but I just love the cover art and how it reminds me of Made in Heaven.
