Porter #16 Fall 2016 : Edita Vilkeviciute by Bruce Weber

Edita and Walter have zero chemistry… A few nice shots of Edita— with chair and kneeling, but so weak overall. The cheap shimmery fabric used for the set is horrible. Seems like Bruce is not even present for this.

Terry’s edit is the best by far.

Thanks gill for all the posts!

Not their best issue, although it's still okay.
I love seeing Andreea and she sure is working it but the hair and the styling is tacky. I wish someone else would shoot her too instead of Richardson.

Flicking through this, it didn't impress me as much as previous issues. The cover story is lifeless, and the eye-catcher is a Terry Richardson editorial that wouldn't be out of place in US Bazaar, and I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Photographer Alex Bramall put on his instagram a caps of one page from Porter with Eva Herzigova :

Can someone tell me if it's in this issue ?

Thank you in advance

The features, not actually posted here, are more of an incentive to get this issue. I hope this slump was a once-off, and that we won't have endure another British Vogue situation.

I like the Irish story with Heather Kemesky so much that I'm prepared to look past it being a blatant Lindbergh facsimile. Of course there's more to Ireland than endless dales and haggard farmhand girls, but I never tire of country fashion features. Kudos to the stylist for lightening it up with florals and multi-coloured prints.
As expected, the cover edit fails to impress me. It's just so dull, Spanish Vogue could do better, and indeed they did. Weber is becoming more and more commercial with each job he books! None of that spark or quirk is evident here, and I wasn't even a fan of his work to begin with. His subjects look so lifeless. At least there's no homoerotic fixation in site, which I suppose is a plus.

Terry's story with Andreea, but it's the sort of thing we see month after month in VP, so nothing new for me. The rest are all very run-of-the-mill, and very catalogue looking. Too many full-body shots, which I imagine would be to sell more apparel from head to toe. It is Porter, after all.

Thanks for posting, Gill88. :flower:

I answer to myself, yes the page of Eva Herzigova is from this issue.

It's a strong issue, inspiring and interesting. I start to read it. I feel it's the magazine I wish Vogue Paris would be.
