Incredible to see these collections - to see the codes of the house and the point of view established so instantly and so confidently is amazing. She is truly one of the greatest designers ever.

That's what impressed me more than anything about seeing this: How singular and focused Muiccia already was. One can clearly see how she's evolved her particular vision of fashion from seeing these earlier collections.

Another thing that struck me was how approachable the casts were-- even the supermodels. They were fuller in the body as well as the face. A young Yasmine Ghauri in 1989-- just adorable... she reminds me so much of one of my best friends and how she looked when we were in high school... Models are getting taller and taller, thinner and thinner, and younger and younger.

At this rate, I wonder what the average requirement for a girl will be in another 20 years if girls today average at 5"11" and a size 2, compared to the 90s when they were at 5'9" and a size 6.
