Prada: Which collection is best since fall 2003?

there's a reason why Prada is mentioned everytime the term "High Class Fashion" is dropped. because of what the brand produced in the past. same goes for Gucci.

*sits in a corner and bathes in nostalgia*
what do you mean when the term high class fashion is dropped... when does that happen

you're referring to her days in the 80s? or was it early 90s when she was going against the popular fashion of loud colour & large silhouettes... and did a collection of complete black and minimal design outfits
are there any pictures of this collection around anymore? :ninja:
like her history has been erased

^ I'm pretty sure that her famous "bad taste" collection, as well as her minimal, tough late 90's stuff is still on firstview, they just aren't free.

From fall 2003 I'd have to say that I really liked s/s 07. It was probably the closest thing to glamour I've ever seen her do with the 40's pinup skirts and shorts, voluminous tops brought in at the waist, longer than long legs, turbans, colors. It wasn't especially wearable as far as a whole look goes, but it made an amazing impact on the runway. Plus, it was interesting to see her take on something that was really "fashion-y" which isn't usually her thing, despite how fashionable it becomes.

you know, when fashion oblivious people start to talk about fashion. like, when gossip mags, some writers and, well, some of my friends, talk about "fashion" and expensive or chic stuff, brands like Gucci and Prada are being mentioned. after which i gotta tell them that Gucci jumped the shark when Frida started to design their clothes and Miuccia is putting her carpets and paint cans to good use.

sadly, brands like Ferre & Ferragamo are barely mentioned.

I honestly love all of her collections. Interestingly, a few years back, I only appreciated Miuccia's more 'normal' collection of the early 2000's and I did not understand her more quirky, strange aesthetic of her more recent collections.

But as of late, I've fallen SO in love with Miuccia's 'weird' collections. Oh, I Just love all of her collections, really.

Fall/ Winter 2004 is so beautiful and I love those toile de jouy prints.
Spring/ Summer 2005 is like the epitome of a summer collection...I adore the rasta feeling, the peacock feathers, those stunning hats...I loved all of it.
Fall/ Winter 2005 was so dark and intellectual.
Spring/ Summer 2006 was so beautiful and delicate, and I loved all the luggage and bubble gum pink accessories.
Fall/ Winter 2006 was perfect, perfect, perfect.
Spring/ Summer 2007 was so chic, with the leather fringe, jewel tones, and I think the turbans were so wonderful.
Fall/ Winter 2007 was so strange, yet so appealing. The textiles were breataking.
Spring/ Summer 2008, while probably my least favorite of the bunch, it still growing on me. I like the James Jean printed pieces a lot.
Fall/ Winter 2008 was so great in that it made lace look menacing and frigthening...and those ruffled shoes!
Spring/ Sumemr 2009 was so incredibly sexy and raunchy...I loved the crumpled fabric and exposed bras and the the sweaty models, the fish on the runway, the Elvis soundtrack...so perfect.
And now Fall/ Winter 2009 is just as wonderful. I love the 1940's English country living mood, mixed with cavewomen, 1920's flappers and gladiators...this collection feels so contemporary and and 'right now.'

So...I don't really think I could pick a favorite!

I love all Prada collections! Especially her 90's stuff, she's been revisiting those collections recently. autumn 1996, 2007 and 2008, as well as spring 2001 and 2007 have to be my favorites. maybe the least favorites are fall 1999(?) techno stuff and some of the very basic collections of 2000-2001(I don't remember the exact seasons).

I usually tend to love all PRADA collections....but S/S 07,08,09...where all my ALL TIME FAVORITES....

Although i tend to love her collections(recently the last 2 have been ehh..), one of my definite faves is ss08. just BEAUTIFUL! i mean that season was soo beautiful with many TONS of collections being so creative(one of my personal favorite seasons) but prada that season won my heart.
